I loved my time in Tamarindo this time more than ever! I stayed at Chocolate Hotel & Hostel and had a great time with two kids! It is the perfect place when you are looking for friendly, trustable and chill out service. The Staff are so nice and always willing to help, the swimming pool was a plus for my... More

Overall it was a pretty good hostel. Location was within walking distance to main town area. Beds were clean, but definitely wouldn't call it 5 star more like 3. Expensive to do washing! But service was good friendly and helpful.

Not sure why it's named 5 Star? It is slightly better than you standard backpacker hostel but still a little rough around the edges. The room was large, included a kitchen and was clean. But the bathroom had a dirty and cold shower. It was decent for the price.

We stayed here for 4 nights, rooms were great for value! Jessie was awesome she answered all our questions about the area and helped arrange a private transfer to take us to some local beaches. Maria and Agustin who also work at the hotel were our guides for the afternoon. We stayed at one of the beaches until after sunset.... More

The walk may be a few minutes in the other direction that the beach is, but the price is perfect for this property. The rooms are large and we had a balcony with a hammock. Better than expected. Large decent local restaurant very near.

I have been trying to stay here for a couple trips to Tamarindo & was finally able to connect my stay with their availability. This is not a large property and they seem to be booked all the time. My patience was rewarded. This is a delightful place just a wee bit off the beaten path. The pool and reception... More

The room was large, tastefully laid out and it had a kitchen which was great: unfortunately most of the pots / dishes were missing and there was no propane / matches (rending the hotplate useless.) The beds were clean BUT I did cut my toe on a piece of glass that housekeeping had missed. The staff was supper friendly but... More

The room was very spacious and clean! Every room had a hammock on the outside porch and the outside area was beautiful. It was a bit of a walk from the beach, but it has a pool. The staff was very friendly and played great reggae music! Very chill place to stay.

I had the most amazing time here! Clean, cheap, absolutely gorgeous, not to mention the awesome staff! I was there for almost 2 weeks and this place was so nice that some days and nights i just stayed in and relaxed on the hammock and swam in the pool. Everyone there is just so friendly and wants to have a... More
