It's not luxurious, but it has everything else you need. Bring your own toiletries. Do not flush toilet paper down the toilet, it will clog. The French bakery is nice for breakfast. It's a tropical forest so bring LOTS of sunblock and mosquito spray! The rooms will have little creepy crawlers lurking around, but what do you expect, it is... More

We live in Cota Rica and as for most Ticos, prices for tourists are generally not adapted to tico budget...But we had to stay around Tamarindo for this night and picked Laguna del Cocodrilo for it's helpul reservation procedure with the owner. We did not regret at all. The location close to the beach was perfect for us (certainly the... More

Great beach location, and such friendly staff. The lady at front desk, Trish, was divine. Gave us maps and went through them showing best shops and restaurants. Found us adapter plug, helped with whatever request / information we asked for. The in house bakery does great breakfast and coffees. Beautiful views, right on the lagoon and beach. There really are... More

As others have noted, cocodrillo is in a prime location in tamarindo, on the beach and close to everything. The staff and owners could not be nicer, friendlier or more helpful. The bakery is awesome. However... Our room, ocean view on the first floor, needed an upgrade. It had that not so fresh feeling, from the thin mattress on the... More

Our stay at this hotel was great, not only is the location right by the beach (private path from the hotel) but it's a clean hotel surrounded by wildlife. Upon arrival, Patricia greeted us with a smile and gave us information about Tamarindo and local tours (highly recommend the Laguna boat tour @ $35/person). The hotel is located on the... More

It was nice being a 5 minute walk from the main downtown hustle and bustle if you're looking for a bit of peace and quiet in a busy tourist area. Private path to the beach was really nice. Clean, good A/C for the peak hot hours, lovely garden area to sit and relax in hammocks, safe, secure, and the French... More

My wife and I travelled to CR for the first time in February, and chose Hotel la Laguna del Cocodrilo as our last stop because of the short distance from the Liberia airport. Shortly after our arrival, we realized we had found a very special place. This small hotel is located a perfect distance from the Tamarindo strip. Quiet, but... More

I headed to Tamarindo to surf and friends of mine warned me that Tamarindo is a loud, busy, party town. Which wasn't what I was looking for, I just wanted to surf and relax. Tamarindo is busy, however, Hotel Cocodrilo is a tranquil oasis on the end of the commercial district of the town. Once you step inside you feel... More

I would stay at this hotel again. The staff are super friendly, the rooms were nice, and the attached French bakery is a great bonus. I'd recommend having breakfast at the bakery, you won't be disappointed. The only negatives were that the wifi was unreliable, and there were a lot of ants crawling around our bathroom. Nothing serious though!

We had such a wonderful experience at this hotel. It was quiet, serene, clean, tastefully decorated and right on the beach. It was perfect because we were inbetween the busy scene in taramindo to the left and the peaceful playa grande to our right. The best part was the French bakery connected to the hotel -- they have the best... More
