The French bakery in connection to the hotel is a clear plus, as is the friendly hotel staff. Clean and ok standard, close to the beach and a short walk to "down-town" Tamarindo. Our room was however facing the street and was not nice at all, contained a small terrace (behind a high fence to the street), very noisy and... More

This is not a fancy hotel but located in a quite area of Tamarindo. The center and the hub of all action is literally 10 min walk. Avoid rooms facing the road as they are not so nice inside. The only downside was that during my stay my room did not have any electricity for a night.

Stayed there for 7 nights, very serene and beautiful location. On the beach between a oasis of Palm trees. Rooms are nice very nice view if you get the garden facing rooms. But ohh the beds are horrible not comfortable after my surf sessions I could sleep anywhere but this bed was bad!

I was here for 3 or 4 nights and really enjoyed my stay. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of my room and the comfort of my bed. I moved here after staying at a shared Witch's Rock room to get some space to work in and to escape the humidity of my shared room (I was here in... More

As the reviews below have stated, this is not a fancy hotel; but it hits everything you could ever need in Tamarindo. Unlike many of the hotels, hostels or apartments you can rent in the town, its actually on the beach. ITs not surrounded by a ton of other hotels or businesses, which means, you can actually relax and experience... More

We stayed here as part of the overflow crowd at Witch's Rock Surfing Camp during the off season and it was brilliantly charming. Though the other reviews of frequent robberies is concerning, this was not our experience at the hotel at all, but it's probably a good idea to keep that in mind in this area in general as there... This is not a resort type hotel so be prepared for bare minimum. It is, however, right on the beach and a slice of quiet paradise. This hotel is a surfers dream and a short walk to WRSC or town. Staff was really friendly and went out of their way to take care of us. There was not much to... More

When backpacking you expect the amenities to be bare minimum. With that it mind, this place was ideal. Upon arrival, we were checked in by Cedric who was friendly and helpful. The television hookup was sketchy, but he nicely came to help us with that. We had a ground ocean view room with 2 full size beds, a spacious area... More

I stayed at Laguna Cocodrilo for one month, in an apartment style room. A friend of mine was staying with me for a week, and left at about 5 am. I went down to say good-bye, and came back up to my room and went back to sleep. When I awoke, my front door was wide open, and my ipad... More

Hotel La Laguna del Cocodrilo is often the "overflow" hotel for Witch's Rock Surf Camp (WRSC). It's a quick walk down the beach or down the road from WRSC away from town. Cocodrilo has no pool, but a quaint courtyard with lush vegetation on all sides that make it ideal for quiet and solitude, especially at night. It has a... More
