Stayed 1 night with my husband. The decor of the standard room was pretty harsh on the eye, and looked like they didn't want to invest in nice furnishings or art. We were woken up in the middle of the night by someone using the garden hose right outside our room, and could hear everything in the morning. Breakfast was... More

Hello, My name is Pino Trimarchi and i am the person in charge for Hotel Luna LLena. I want to clarify some points about this review because for my point of view is not correct and unfair. For the breakfast, for example, that the client rate "basic but decent" we offer 3 different choices: A) Typical (rice & beans with... More

Nice property with attactive landscaping and pool area. Very helpful staff. Breakfast was good local fare. Large room and bathroom--good for family travel. About 10 min walk to beach. Locations is a little tucked away so a bit challenging to find, but only delayed us a few minutes, and got a short tour of town finding it.

Stayed here for one night. The place itself is in a good location next to town and the rooms are large overlooking a pool area. Downside is that the room is supposed to have a posturepedic bed when it actually has a cheap foam mattress that is so old it's lumpy and almost useless. Hot water is low power and... More

I stayed at Luna Llena in August, and was pleased by how quiet and relaxing it was. The rooms are clean, the pool is beautiful, and the grounds are filled with fruit trees and flowers. It's only a short walk to the beach, and I found this to be a good thing because I like my peace and quiet. It... More

I found the owners to be as nice as you can find. What ever we needed was done right away. Rooms very reasonable. This is not a Hilton but a really nice local hotel. Rooms were more than adequate with flat screen TV. Cleaning daily.Call and longer stays you can negotiate a little. Grounds were well kept and kind of... More

Someone we met in Tamarindo recommended it and I am happy she did! The bungalow was clean and well decorated. The A/C worked well. The typical breakfast (Gallo pinto) was excellent. It was very close to the beach and the pool area was beautiful. It was a safe and quiet place to stay. My family, especially my children ( 8... More

We were booked here through our Spanish school and didn't even know where we were staying until a week before. We read the reviews and hoped for the best. I have to say, that while it is not a flashy, waterfront condo, the Hotel Luna Llena was a quaint and authentic Costa Rican experience for us. Are there places in... More
