as i got stuck in fully booked out tamarindo, this was my home for one night... 95$ for a Double room was nevertheless too much. breakfast was in another bar, which was 5 min walk away... quiet and clean rooms though

Stayed here for a week while surfing with witchs rock surf camp. Hotel is nice and clean. The rooms are a little small but two queen beds worked fine. The pool is much bigger than the one at the main hotel. It's about a 5 minute walk to the main hotel which is not terrible but a slight inconvenience since... More

We found this gem because our hotel in Samara ended up being a nightmare so we decided to hit up Tamarindo (old faithful!) The night watchman checked us in. He was warm and friendly and we had fun trying to understand each other. He spoke little English and our Spanish is not quite fixed yet. Pueblo Dorado is perfectly located... More

This review isn't about the staff or the room. The staff are nice, and the room is spare, but comfortable enough for a week of surf camp. The problem comes on Friday night - this hotel appears to be next to a nightclub/bar, and the noise is unbelievable on Friday night. After surfing all week, I was exhausted and just... More

I don't write reviews, EVER as it would be taking from my playing time but before my trip to Costa Rica in November I looked at the reviews for Pueblo Dorado because I was not going to be staying right at the camp as it was full, so I was curious what people might say. Of course the people that... More

My friends and I loved the Pueblo Dorado Surf Hotel. It was in a great location close to the beach, Tamarindo town, lots of great bars and restaurants, a bakery, and a gym. The staff was so warm, friendly, and helpful from the moment we got there. They really showed us what the Pura Vida culture was all about and... More

This hotel is affordable and close to everything that I needed for a getaway. My friend and I decided to take a break from the craziness of work before the holidays set in for a surf and sleep vacation. We were on a budget, but wanted near the beach so we chose Pueblo Dorado. I've stayed at its sister property... More

I can deal with a charmless hotel that's near good surf. But the walls at Pueblo Dorado paper thin, the beds and pillows uncomfortable, and the door to my room didn't fit the frame so ants and mosquitos got in. Witches Rock recently bought this hotel and they use it for overflow, but they have some work to do to... More
