My wife and I stayed there for a week. Randy at the front desk was very helpful and spoke English well. The property is a tropical oasis. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. If you book thru book it.com the breakfast are not free but its only 5 $ per day.

Hotel Pasatiempo is not so inviting when you walk into the check in area. It is Full of local tour guide information which is GREAT but it is overwhelming. What really makes this hotel GREAT is the bartender Steve! He was always up for chatting, making us yummy drinks, and even laughing with us. He told us great restaurants to... More

Helene does it all to make her guests feeling at home, providing an impeccably clean structure and nice services. The rooms are big and well furnished, the pool nice and you are 3 mins walking from the beach. Highly recommended for a short or long stay in Tamarindo beach.

This was the nicest room I stayed in during my month long stay in Costa Rica. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning was powerful. The decorations were beautiful. I had a great time hanging out at the pool, watching the howler monkeys, and drinking beer that Steven, the bartender, made sure were always full. The live music on Saturday... More

While traveling Costa Rica, my husband and I had a last minute change of plans and decided to come to Tamarindo a day early. When we arrived, we found out the hotel we had reserved (for the next 2 nights) was fully booked. Luckily, Hotel Pasatiempo was close by and had a vacancy! The hotel room (bed and shower) were... This is a top notch property. The rooms and grounds are immaculate. The bar is very inviting. The staff is more than helpful. It almost seems, at times, like you're on your own private island. And it's only a short walk from the paved road! I would have given it a perfect score, but the breakfast is not worth the... More

Pasatiempo is exactly what we were looking for when my boyfriend and I planned our week long visit to Tamarindo. The hotel is so charming & clean for such an affordable price. It's a short walk to the beach and downtown, which turned out to be perfect for us as we are a little removed from the noise that goes... More

This is a gem of a hotel. Off the main strip so you can get your peace and quiet at nite but also close enough where you can easily walk to everything you need to include the beach. We were there for the World Cup when Costa Rica advanced to the quarterfinals...the whole area was crazy fun! Hotel staff was... More

This hotel was a little slice of heaven in the busy, tourist ridden town of Tamarindo. The hotel hosts, Elena and Randy, were so helpful, kind, and knowledgeable on the area and what to do. They made you feel welcome, safe, and relaxed. We arrived with no reservation and Elena had a beautiful room for my friend and I for... More
