My stepdaughter and I spent a week in March at Villa Amarilla and could not have made a better choice! Owner hosts T.J. And Cindy gave us a fabulous experience! Our room was large, with super-comfy beds, great artwork in the room, large bathroom, and all were very very clean. Their complimentary breakfasts are to die for: fresh coffee, fresh... More

I really can't say enough about this place. My husband and I came for two nights, and ended up staying two weeks. And would still be there now, if we didn't have to work! This hotel is a paradise. It's not a large chain hotel, so you really get to meet the travelers that are staying there, and the owners,... More

Myself and 3 others were taking place on a backpacking trip and we were running low on $!.. This place accompanied us to an affordable price for ourselves and them. It was so comfortable they made us feel at home. It's in a great location right off the beach (beautiful sunsets) and at night it got bumpin with some fun... More

I stayed for a total of 8 days in this beautiful oasis in Tamarindo. The location is just perfect, right on the beach and in the center of everything. The rooms are recently redecorated, tiles on the floor and bathroom, nice and clean. From my room I had a view of the beach, and there were also a mirror placed... More

While studying abroad in San Jose, a group of friends traveled to Tamarindo for the weekend without reservations assuming we would find a place no problem. Well, unfortunately there was a marathon in which people traveled from all over the world to attend - frantic & racing around town looking for a place to stay, with 6 people we found... More

This was my husbands and I second trip to Costa Rica, this time was way better than 5 years ago! We came across Villa Amarilla while walking along the beach and going for a message on the Villa Amarilla property. Every morning we were able to wake up to a homemade breakfast, great coffee and to sit and watch the... More

Stayed one night and loved it. Rooms are basic and very clean. The outside courtyard is right on the beach and very relaxing with great views. Owners and staff very friendly. Cinde and TJ are great people and thanks TJ we loved hearing your story. Would definitely stay there again.

I can't say enough great things about Hotel Villa Amarilla and owners TJ Krantz and Cindy!! First, their place is amazing, right on the beach, hammocks hanging outside, brand new grassy knoll area. Second, their right hand man Diego hooked us up with daily excursion/activities that were all wicked fun and amazingly priced. But, more importantly, was their hospitality. My... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hotel Villa Amarilla (yellow village)is a funky, fun, feel at home hotel. You check-in as a guest but check-out as a friend. For the past year we have been renovating everything. Everything is brand new. Lush tropical gardens facing the beach, to new beds and the softess sheets and comfy pillows. In the morning get to know our other friends (guests) by sharing coffee, muffins and fruit for breakfast in the Rancho. A/C, cable t.v. hot water and Wifi are also included in the rooms. We our right on the beach with the most beautiful sunsets. Here in Tamarindo, people stop what they are doing just to watch the sunsets. We are in the center of town (right next to the Diria), big yellow hotel with a surfer on the front of the building along with a parrot, a monkey, iguana, a couple of fish and a frog. You can't miss us, don't miss the experience of the Hotel Villa Amarilla. ... more   less
