My husband and I visited Costa Rica for 10 days traveling all over staying in everything from 2 to 5 stars. We just stumbled upon this fun looking hotel and had to check it out. Immediately we fell in love with not only the enchanting hotel but the warmth of the owners Tj and Cyndy! Tj even came fishing with... More

Villa Amarilla is by far the best hotel, bed n breakfast, or vacation spot so far. Cindy and TJ are very welcoming and will make you feel at home. Its right on the beautiful warm Costa Rica beach. It was nice to feel safe leaving all our stuff in the room while we spent the day on the beach. They... More

I went to Costa Rica with a friend for a wedding. We travelled around with a big group and stayed at a lot of resort-type places. The two of us had an extra day in Costa Rica than the rest of our group and we stumbled upon Hotel Villa Amarilla. To our delight, it ended our trip right. It was... More

This was my second time in Costa Rica but my first time staying at the Hotel Villa Amarilla in Tamarindo. I loved the city but the hotel even more. After spending 10 days in paradise I can honestly say I wouldn't go anywhere else! The place has very laid back feel and the owners Tj and Cinde immediately make you... More

This was my first time in Costa Rica, and everything about my vacation was done on a whim. When we got to town we didn't have any hotel accommodations. So it goes without saying that I was extremely grateful to have found this gem. From the moment we rang the bell and were greeted by Cinde I had a sense... More

This is the place for a warm , friendly experience in Tamarindo. The owners go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and included . Its right on the beach and has a little yard for when the winds are too strong and the sand is blowing on the beach. There is always fresh fruit available to eat.... More

We spent two days/nights here and could easily have stayed longer. Cinde and TJ work extremely hard to make it incredibly easy to relax and have a good time, If you are looking for an upscale, fancier type of hotel with all of the amenities, Hotel Villa Amarilla is not for you. If you're looking for a clean hotel with... More

Fabulous place, right on the beach. Gorgeous rooms, breakfast until midday! Cindy, the owner, will take care of everything you'll need, always with a big smile. All you have to do is enjoy the beautiful place!

After trying several massage places in Tamarindo, I'm speechless on how great a massage Mari and Segrario provide. After an exhausting morning of surfing, they provide the perfect balance between, relaxation, deep tissue, and sport massage. They know how to get the kinks out of my shoulders from all that paddling (in the water). They also have a covered cabana... More

The staff here were super welcoming and even gave us a shot of tequila on arrival. The rooms and common area were clean and recently updated. The rooms were comfy with modern updates, especially the bathrooms. Nice oceanfront hotel, you're literally steps away from the sandy beach. Great price for what you get! Chill vibes all around. Nice hammocks to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Villa Amarilla (yellow village)is a funky, fun, feel at home hotel. You check-in as a guest but check-out as a friend. For the past year we have been renovating everything. Everything is brand new. Lush tropical gardens facing the beach, to new beds and the softess sheets and comfy pillows. In the morning get to know our other friends (guests) by sharing coffee, muffins and fruit for breakfast in the Rancho. A/C, cable t.v. hot water and Wifi are also included in the rooms. We our right on the beach with the most beautiful sunsets. Here in Tamarindo, people stop what they are doing just to watch the sunsets. We are in the center of town (right next to the Diria), big yellow hotel with a surfer on the front of the building along with a parrot, a monkey, iguana, a couple of fish and a frog. You can't miss us, don't miss the experience of the Hotel Villa Amarilla. ... more   less
