This hotel is a good place for a romantic trip; just the good size to get a personalized service, really nice and rustic room and each room has his own pathway and deck surrounded by the jungle. We loved to hear those monkeys on the morning. Room very very clean. Pool small but nice and clean. The only problem is... More

We stayed for 3 nights in January. We had stayed in Carillo, near the most magnificent beach you might ever see, and our hearts sank a bit when we drove through Tamarindo afterwards, as it is a slightly grotty, busy little town predominantly made up of spring break kids it seems. However, Cala Luna more than made up for it.... More

Beautiful hotel. Rooms were clean and well maintained, AC worked beautifully! Staff were friendly, on-site restaurant was delicious (with complimentary breakfast for hotel guests) and the private beach, with cocktail hour, was the icing on the cake. If we visit tamarindo again, we will be staying here.

Gorgeous and away from all the touristy development of Tamarindo. The facility and individual bungalows are great. Service is amazing and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The poolside is relaxing. There are so many animals around - we saw iguanas, howler monkeys, multiple varieties of birds - just lovely. The food was decent too though we enjoyed going into... More

Cala Luna is simply spectacular. We accidentally booked a villa, so we had three beds and three baths all to ourselves, and a private pool out back. (It was pretty much the last room in Tamarindo for New Years Eve...) Anyways, everyone was super nice and helpful. The free breakfast was amazing. The beds were comfortable. Start to finish a... My husband and older children came to Cala Luna to at the beach and near Tamarindo, without being in the thick of it. This was perfect. Everything is thought of and taken care of. We felt this hotel was as good as any of the high priced luxury hotels. Buffet breakfast was fantastic. Service was spot on. Rooms, pool area,... More

I cannot say enough good things about Cala Luna! We stayed here for her our honeymoon and I don't have one negative thing to say. We arrived and were greeted by extremely friendly staff who brought us a moist towel and deliciously refreshing drink! Luckily for us we arrived just in time for sunset cocktails on the beach. What a... More

We absolutely loved Cala Luna. The villas are secluded and quiet, tucked away in the lush landscaping. The pool area is very relaxing with the best music and gracious staff. Carlos has a great personality and helped us with all of our activities. He even came out to the beach and took some photos for us. Antony, Rodolfo and Margoth... More

Our stay at Cala Luna was absolutely perfect, from the 5 star quality service to the phenomenal food, there is nothing I would change about this resort! The staff were very helpful in organizing surf lessons and shuttle service for us. The hotel is about a 20 min walk to the main town of Tamarindo, but a cab is only... More

We traveled to Costa Rica with a group of 12 in November. The Cala Luna Hotel was our beach hotel after visiting Monteverde. The staff was terrific and went above and beyond to accomodate our group! Some of us were in a villa and some in single rooms. Everything was spotless in the rooms and any issues were responded to... More
