This place is a story-book tropical paradise. You can walk down to the beach, enjoy an amazingly designed pool, and the food & drinks at the hotel are top notch. You can walk down the street or the beach and get to to the main part of the town, but it's a bit of a hike. We had some interesting... More

My wife, 2 daughters and I spent a week here in April and had a wonderful time! The food is good with a gluten free menu and the place is very family friendly. If you walk down to the beach there is no swimming, but a 10 min walk will bring you to one of the most beautiful beaches I... More

We had a two bedroom villa since we were there for a wedding and would be spending six nights. I also wanted the extra room just in case we needed the space. The villas have their own pool. You feel like you have your own house, which you do, among a resort. The staff was wonderful and the place very... More

Cala Luna is one of the most luxurious resorts/hotels in Tamarindo. The property is removed from the main part of town but they make sure you don't miss out on the experience. The staff are great. The food and drinks at both the restaurant and poolside bar are fantastic. The amenities and accommodations are first-rate. If you're more of a... More

Cala Luna is a little off the beaten path, it's about 1/4 mile from the actually down town area but it's worth it. We were greeted with welcome drinks and a fresh towel, they actually brought mine to me in the car because the night before I had fallen and hurt my ankle, so my boyfriend checked in and inquired... After staying in several cities in CR, this was far and above the best hotel, with unbelievable customer service. The owner has a farm, about 30 minutes away called "La Senda." If you can go, I would recommend it. We witnessed more monkeys and wildlife there, on her 74 acres, than anywhere in Costa Rica. Just a beautiful person to... More

We thoroughly enjoyed Cala Luna.... We had a two bedroom villa and it had its own pool. The villa was well appointed, spacious and stylish - we have stayed in some luxury brands internationally that were not as good. The nerve centre of the hotel with reception, main pool and restaurant was also pleasant. The food was very good quality.... More

Stayed for 3 nights in a very nice room. Some maintenance problems but fixed quickly and were apologetic. Two nice restaurants and pool area. Not on the beach - about 5 minutes away. Taxi's easy to get into town for $5. Quiet comfort. Breakfasts were very nice and different every day. This was the off season so not very busy.

Calla Luna was lovely; our villa was beautiful and perfect for our family of four. We loved the pool, the evening cocktails on the beach and the breakfast was delicious. The staff was all very nice but it seemed like there was something missing from the service - as if they were a little afraid of management and not empowered... More

We highly recommend Cala Luna. We typically stay at 5 star hotels (Four Seasons type) so we are totally spoiled but Cala Luna was a great match! There are not many luxury spots in or near Tamarindo and Cala Luna fit the bill. The service was excellent, it was extremely clean, quiet and private. Although the rooms are not ocean... More
