My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights on a second honeymoon trip to Costa Rica. We absolutely loved it. We ended up booking an additional night at the end of our trip after visiting Santa Theresa, to stay here the night before our flight out of Liberia, since it was only a 2 hour drive from Lodge Las... Lodge Las Ranas wsas was my favorite hotel during our entire stay in Costa Rica - pictures do not do it justice. We had room 2, with an incredible panoramic view of Playa Samara and the rainforest. The canopy bed was comfortable and the room was beautifully decorated. Breakfast was good, very fresh fruit and good coffee. The staff were... More

We stayed in Las Ranas for one night in July. The room was absolutely beautiful. Get a room on the second floor, you are up in the tree tops. We saw many different birds, lots of monkeys, and a view of the ocean in the distance. Free breakfast the next morning was great. Would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I spent 3 glorious nights here and absolutely loved it! While the place has air conditioning we didn't need to use it. The ceiling fan and large screened windows kept us comfortable at night despite the hot July days. I'd rather sleep with windows open than use A/C whenever possible so this was really nice. I got... We spent two nights at Lodge Las Ranas and thoroughly enjoyed our time. In addition to the clean rooms, impeccably kept grounds, multitude of animals (we even saw an armadillo!!), well-prepared food and refreshing pool, we happened to be staying there while the Canadian owner was in town. She and her son, Cody (who is consistently in town running the... More

We stayed in Las Ranas for two nights in June. It was a great start of our honeymoon. Lovely room, beautiful views and yummy breakfast! While sitting on the balcony we were welcomed by monkeys, tucans and iguanas! Everything was spotless! Laura was extremely helpful and just lovely! It is said that you need a car to get there, but... Stayed here with my wife and son so we could get in some beach time on our trip to Costa Rica. The lodge was wonderful for us to rest at night after a day on the beach. Nice pool and great breakfast/drinks even during the quiet green season. The day we arrived I asked about monkeys in the area and... More

Paradise! Was the first thing we thought when we arrived. Nearby the village Samara, but yet so close to nature. Really nice rooms, pool etc. Staff was also very friendly: when I asked Walter if they where selling pipa's (sort of coconut) he actually chopped one out of a tree for me! And the first night we had a few... More

As far as what I look for in a vacation lair, Las Ranas is right up my alley! It is just the right size, 10 rooms and two apartments, located on a hill overlooking Samara town, with great vistas of Carillo and Buena Vista Beach. It is quiet, feels secluded although only a kilometer or so out of town, so... More

The lodge Las Ranas has a spectacular view. The rooms are comfortable and breakfast is served every morning. Each room has a fan, but I don't think there was AC. When we were there, the lodge had two guard dogs that are well-behaved. This lodge is about a 15-20 minute walking distance from the main strip in Samara. The lodge... More
