We spent three days this past spring at Lodge Las Ranas and really couldn't have asked for better quality and customer service than we had at the Lodge. It was quiet, romantic, secluded and just a short drive down to both Samara Beach and Carillo Beach. The breakfast was always great and one morning we woke to find howler monkeys... more

Where to start? The place is beautiful, with a great view and lots of wildlife all around, ie the howler monkeys, iguanas, lots of cool birds etc. The staff, and by this I mean not only the French Canadian owners, but also their amazing employees, were all so great to us. And what a benefit to world travelers, they speak... more

My husband and I were lucky enough to spend two wonderful nights in this hotel/lodge and wished we could've stayed longer. Our large room was beautifully decorated and very clean. The bathroom was also very roomy and very clean. Our room had huge windows plus french doors opening onto the balcony so the fantastic view of the ocean and mountains... more

The view is absolutely stunning as is the room. Liked having the safe and fridge, were disappointed our TV was not working though. The balcony was beautiful. We woke every morning to howler monkeys. Lovely pool, food was very good and service was excellent. Our hosts made us feel like part of the family. We are both athletic but found... more

An amazing place! The rooms are very stylish, the bathroom is spa-like and the balcony is big with a great view. And everything is brand new! It's a peaceful place on the hill overlooking the ocean. It's about a 10 min walk to the beach and about 15 minutes walk to the Samara town (5 min by car, taxi is... more

This hotel offers incredible quality in all its amenities. The beds are very comfortable, the private terrasse in the room offers great view and the feeling to live in the trees. The restaurant team serves excellent local food along with great service. The rancho style of the restaurant is typical and well organized. The pool has 2 parts, the first... more

Our family wasn't sure what to expect on our drive up to las Ranas but we were more than pleasantly surprised. What a beautiful view! We wanted to check in and head back to town to hit the beach but couldn't pull ourselves away from the beauty and tranquility at the lodge. Our room had an amazing view of the... more

When our family reached the top of the long steep drive we were stunned by the beauty. The views are amazing. Our rooms were nicely appointed and very clean. We had planned to run back into town for some beach time. However, we never managed to leave the view from poolside. In the morning the squirrels kept us amused while... more
