My family and I stayed at the Tico Adventure Lodge for one week. I'm a 13 year old boy and I thought that this hotel was very nice. They had a small pool, power lines and ropes that Howler Monkeys walk on, friendly staff, lizards, nice common areas, and a cute 3 legged dog! One of the only flaws of... More

We didn't book through online company as we learned that most hotels we have stayed prefer payment by cash in US dollars or Colones (local currency) and you might get a discounted rate. We found Tico Adventure Lodge from Lonely Planet guidebook and we were very happy staying there for 4 nights. Room is clean with balcony and hammock .... More

Beautiful pool, open kitchen, wood work, lizards, clean, $52 for a private room, three beds one a bunkbed, fridge outside your door. 5 min walk to beach. I took an inflatable paddle board. Caught fresh fish made ceviche. 2 min walk to grocery store, pineapples, mangos bananas. Bed by 11 up at 6:30. Slept like a rock.

We are a party of six - husband, wife, three kids, and auntie - ranging in age from 7 to 64. Because we booked here after we arrived (the BnB we had booked wasn't working for us) we stayed in several places within Tico Adventure Lodge during our almost three-week visit, including the Tree House, the Pool House, and five... We recently stayed at the lodge for six nights. Our house, Casa del sol, was brilliant for a teenager family with three bedrooms and a very nice porch close to the pool where you could spend hours reading, playing cards or just lookin at the odd lizards, humming birds and even howler monkeys coming by. A large kitchen and a... More

Wonderfully landscaped hotel central to town and beach. Beach is a short 5 minute walk down hill (which means uphill on way back!) The road is busy, but our room was down in a grove, so we did not hear it when sleeping. Great reception service; very friendly. Nice pool. Great price; we opted for a non-a/c room and wish... More

You get what you pay for: We spent 6 nights at Tico Lodge in their studio apartment starting on January 2, 2015. The good: - friendly staff, especially the cleaning ladies - 5 mn walk from town and beach - average $88 per night including tax - fully functional kitchen - gorgeous wood construction The needs improvement: - A/C broke... Our family stayed in the tree top apartment recently. Everyone working at the lodge were very friendly and helpful. There's a nice international vibe to the place and the pool was fun for the kids. Only downside is the location next to the major road passing around Samara. Tons of loud trucks, motorcycles and ATVs. We were there during a... More

Thank you very much for your review. We're sorry that you experienced a lot of noise. The time you were in Samara is the most busy of the whole year and that comes with more traffic and as well with more noise on the streets... Hopefully see you again at the lodge one day. More

we spent 3 nights in Samara and stayed at the Tico Lodge. It's definitly a must, a few steps from the beach, surrounded by tree ans it has a wonderful pool. Really cheap for the room and we liked everything about this hotel. The owner, Chris is so nice!

We stayed here in the wet season but still had a fantastically relaxing time. Janice who owns the lodge could not have been more welcoming and helpful- my daughters adored her and even went with her on nightly walks with her three legged dog Congo. The staff arranged a whale watching trip and we organised a night turtle watching tour,... More
