We stayed for 2 weeks and were really PLEASANTLY surprised. The past reviews made our family a bit hesitant. However, we found VERY LITTLE to complain about! 13 of us went (entire family), all ages: from 2-65! We were all very happy with everything. We had oceanview villas, which were spacious and comfortable. The kitchens had everything we needed... of... More

Villa Playa Samara was definitely a lovely property even though I wish I could have stayed longer to give more of a detailed review! I stayed there for only one night but I would definitely come back, especially if I came in a large group of friends. Because my family and I drove into Samara later than expected, we had... More

Villa Playa Samara boasts a semi private beach, an island to kayak to and a coral reef that is home to lots of fish. We booked a three bedroom villa right on the water. It was great. Clean, all the necessities for making meals for six people. Plus, very private. The restaurant should be avoided, overpriced and passable food. Rentals... More

I really liked this property because of the people who work onsite. There is nothing special about the property itself and in fact it really needs alot of maintenance work and freshening up to get it up to standard. location is right on the beach...quiet little town - peaceful. however - the staff onsite are super friendly and very helpful.... I took a big risk and had our Wedding here on 11/11/11, never been to the Villas or even to Costa Rica, I had been talking to the Villas for about 6 months and they were helping me with all the prices, for all the guests, all the wedding arrangements....Everything was just perfect, the Villas were nice, the pool amazing,... The Resort is very nice with helpful staff.... However, beware of Tico Time! Punctuality is not a concern and comfortable relaxed attitude is the atmosphere. Coming from the U.S. it was difficult in the beginning.... but hey, isn't that what vacation is all about! Tico time is not only a clock issue, but a relaxed attitude about life. If the... More

This was my first time to costa rica, i came alone. It was the end of rainy season, (end of october) and I found my room the be wonderful, right next to the ocean. I had a king sized bed and plenty of space. None of the plugs in the kitchen or front room area, or the refridgerator worked, but... More

We got a great deal on Groupon and went for our anniversary. It was rainy season, the end of October, but we hit the tail end of it and had sunny days with rainy nights. The room we got was nice and steps away from the beach. There is no water pressure and no bathtub which was a bit disappointing.... More
