Let me first say that I was traveling for a month in Costa Rica so was looking for affordable, clean places. They are really not hard to find. This one was in my guide book and said it was reliable. Sure, it's reliable: for terrible food, a loud bar full of drunk Americans, and stinky rooms! It was definitely one... more

What birds? My 1st time in Costa Rica and found this quaint little clean place with great food and a bar (music occasionally) with lots of interesting people - many of which have chosen to make Flamingo Beach their home. Mariner Inn is within walking distance of everything. . .beaches. . .clubs. . .restaurants, ect. There's lots to do in... more

We chose the Mariner Inn to finish up our Costa Rica trip with a couple of days at the beach. We booked into the suite on a Thursday and were quite pleased with the size of the accommodation for me, my husband and my 17 year old son. The suite has two bedrooms with a good-sized bathroom and a kitchenette... more

The Mariner is a classic expat hotel/bar in the heart of Flamingo. The rooms are small but well-equiped with excellent cable, A/C and also very clean. One tip, bring your own towel as theirs are a little thin and worn. The really bright spot of the Mariner is the Bar and restaurant. They have great food, good inexpensive drinks and... more

My wife and I stayed at the Mariner Inn in February 2007. It is the center of life in Flamingo. It is well managed by long-time resident Larry and his wife Lynn. Rooms are clean, very affordable with nice aircon and cable TVs. Next to the restaurant and bar is a nice clean pool to cool off in or sun... more

The rooms are clean, the service is outstanding and the food is great. What more can you say. On our second trip we finally tried another resturant in town - the food at the Mariner is affordable and very good; and the atmosphere is great too. If you want to meet the locals - this is the place to hang... more

Not a better deal in the Flamingo beach area. We found the rooms to be very clean and the staff was very respectful and attentive. The food at the resturant was outstanding!! It was nice to be able unwind after a day at the beach or sight seeing at the open air bar. We enjoyed meeting the Tico's and enjoyed... more

This isa relaxing hotel with very good atmosphere. The bar, which is something inbetween inside and outside, has some wonderful chairs and a veranda with a little pool. This is a perfect place to bring a good book. Its about 5 minutes walk from the hotel to the beach. When you stay at this hotel, you will always want to... more

For the price, this was a great value in Flamingo. Just a short walk from the beach, we had a small but clean room at the Mariner Inn. There was a small bar and restaurant which had lovely views of the Marina and games such as checkers and chess which you could borrow and play under the gazebo. We paid... more
