We have a great spot in front of the ocean. All our rooms have a private bathroom with hot water, a communal kitchen, in the downtown Samara so we are near all the stores you may need. We hope to see you soon in Samara.
I stayed here for about 3 weeks and loved every minute. Image...waking up in the morning.....grabbing fresh Costa Rican coffee, fresh fruit (cut fresh every morning) and watching the waves crash up on the shore. The staff is so friendly. My room was kept impeccably clean. They have same day laundry service. They also help book anything else you need. Walking distance to everything. Rooms are quite. Full kitchen. People of all ages.

I really like the location of Casa Valeria. It’s right on the beach in downtown Samara. It has a wide variety of prices for everyone. I was a long term stay in a bungalow, shared with a friend. There are also small private rooms and dorms for as cheap as $15 a night. There’s a shared kitchen if you want to save a little cash by eating at “home” occasionally or just like. To cook.. I loved the folks I met from Costa Rica and around the world while hanging out in the communal areas. This is not luxury, but being right on the ocean is priceless for me. I found the staff are helpful when I had issues. Breakfast is simple fruit, coffee, juice and toast generally included in the price and ready by 7am. It’s quiet after 10 pm and there’s a security guard most nights so I felt safe. It’s a good place if you want to lay in a hammock and read or you have a family who wants to play in the ocean.…

If you prefer to be right on the beach in a hotel that scoffs at refinement, this could be your place. The range of accommodations includes pitching your own tent on the beach with access to the facilities, a bunk house, and private rooms. We "splurged" on a private room. In the first room we were put in, one of the jalousie windows did not work at all and one of the glass slats fell out of the other one when I tried to operate it. They were nice about moving us to another room. Neither room had screens on the windows. The new room lacked a closet, and the hooks on the wall lacked hangers. Every where you looked, something was broken or shoddy. Not only were the light bulbs bare, two of the light fixtures were bare of bulbs. Despite these disparaging remarks we enjoyed the hippy vide of the 70's era sheets, free wifi, the convenience of an on-site bar, and, as mentioned, it is right on the beach.…

Picture yourself in beautiful Costa Rica you wake up and leave your hostel room and end up in the colorful common area filled with plants, tropical birds, and various chairs & hammocks. The smell of fresh coffee and breakfast filling your senses. You turn to the South and see the picturesque view of the ocean. All at once you know you don't wanna go home and the delicious Thai restaurant Pig Thai (which is attached to Casa Valeria) has not even opened up yet for lunch. When it does you know the deal is absolutely sealed and you have made the right lodging decision. Valeria has prime location on the beaches of Samara. On one side is the Surfboard rental shop that also provides lessons. On the other side is a bar that features live music and sporting games. I fell in love with Costa Rica and Casa Valeria is a big, big reason why. 9 days seemed too short. Pura Vida…

We had booked this hotel through Booking.com about 2 months ago for 4 days. One day before our arrival, they cancelled our reservation due to an 'administrative error'. No attempt to help remedy the situation nor find alternative. Booking.com came to our rescue but i recommend that you dont trust this place.

We loved this location. Lots of beach seating, loungers, hammocks, tables & chairs. You literally stumble out of your room on the beach. It's rustic. We had room 9, two double beds and bunk beds and a private bath. No A/C, but a ceiling and floor fan helped. The Pig Thai restaurant is on the property, but has random hours. It was open only the Thursday that we were there, but it was DELICIOUS! PROS: good breakfast included lots of seating on the beach big roomy rooms communal kitchen friendly staff perfect location CONS: rustic rooms no A/C I would stay here again.

I loved the location, I rented a tent since my d-ther wanted to live the experience. I didnt feel quite confortable with some of the staff (like bad vibes). For example, I paid $10 (with pleasure) for my friend and her 2 kids to stay in the area and she heard a comment cause they needed to use the (unique) bathroom?... You guys should learn the rule Nº 1 in hospitality (I mean in the hotel I work for): no matter if the guest has a $10 or $1000 room, long or short stay...treat them the best possible way and beyond... breakfast ok, except the unflavored coffee and the beans were raw and one pelòn spoiled the moment cause swept the dust in front of us and the guests were covered by this cloud of dust...and he didnt apologize despite he saw everytbody left...front desks girls cero quejas.…

We read the reviews prior to booking. We kind of knew what to expect. But for us it was about location and the beach feel. We were only in our room to sleep that's all so we tried it. The location was perfect, walk to all the bars and restaurants. It's a great location for a 3 night stay. It's colorful, tropical and it has a great Costa Rica beach vibe. The room is another story. We stayed in room 10 upstairs unit with a/c so glad we did. More privacy (no view but metal rooftops) and our balcony was nothing but a rocking chair. It's a very small compact hotel, rooms close to each other and sleeping tents on ground too. The room had a metal roof you can hear everything that falls on roof. The bed is hard and the pillows are flat. 1 sheet, 1 towel per person. They provide nothing else. Bugs in room but your in CR it's expected. Tiny tiny bathroom and old. You can add breakfast to your stay for $5.00 more but it was very basic same thing everyday. Coffee was basic too. Wifi worked in main hotel open area but in the rooms it was spotty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. For our 3 nights i'm glad we tried this place we had a great time at the beach having imperials and meeting new people. Store is across the street we went there a few times for beer (we had our own ice chest). My back and neck did hurt every morning, im a light sleeper so it was hard to sleep with that roof but hotel is quiet at 10 p.m. for sure this stay was an adventure something to always talk about but the beach will leave you breathless. Samara is beautiful town with beautiful beaches. I do not regret anything about our stay but keep it short not much to do besides the beach eat and drink.…

Oof, what can I say. The pros: beach location--MAJOR pro. Beautiful spots to lounge day and night. Friendly and helpful staff. The cons: the actual lodging and facilities. I booked a hostel room and there was only one tiny shared bathroom among multiple dorm rooms and the public. The toilet has a super weak flush to the point that 90% of the time you're going to see evidence of prior use. It got so gross by midday that you don't want to shower there at night, especially since there is no shelf or hook to keep your stuff off the floor and dry/clean. The dorm itself was small and often too hot. I got bitten every night there (prob by mosquitoes or ants but I don't think it's anything worse). Would I stay there again? Prob not... There are plenty of beach bars where you can lounge in the shade for the cost of a beer, and hopefully there are better accommodations in Samara. Btw, for a hostel, the prices for drinks at this place really isn't any lower than any other bar.…

This place is made to relax for a few days. Just hang up in the hamogs right at the beach and enjoy the free coffee. Rooms, kitchen and showers were clean. Breakfast is very good and cheap and stuff helps with information. Plus there is a good and cheap surf rental right next door makes it the perfect place to relax and learn how to surf for a few days. Very recommendable!
