We fell for an offer from Alan to see a volcano and hot springs which was closer than Arenal. Thermo Mania was partially closed, no zip line, no horse back riding, Walt Disney themed pools, hot springs were not hot, mud bath was a gallon of mud you had to smear on yourself with a wooden spoon. Spa staff was... More

Rustic and simple but priced like a all inclusive. Would not recommend, there are others in the area with better facilities and prices. Should be a quarter of the price for what it is. There has been a lot done but lacks basics for the price. Disappointed.

When a resort chooses not to close during low season you expect some sort of service. We didnt feel welcome at all. We were about the only customers with two small children but no effort was made to make us feel welcome. We received no info about the place and there wasnt any in our cabin as we were told... More

We were really looking forward to spending a few hours in this place but left after maybe two, of which about 30 minutes were spent in the pools. In two pools to be precise, most of the others were empty. Can you believe it? They are supposed to have 11 pools, but they seem to have disappeared into thin air.... More

The cabins are generally ok, it was raised that there has been a lot of thefts in the past so we were on alert with that. The garden and cave areas are well presented but the rest of the hotel seems old and outdated. It wasn't the best of food and was one of the worst on my tour of... More

THE GOOD? They had availability THE BAD 1. The service was terrible, slow, rude. They didn't give us any of the info that would have helped this luke-warm crap hole somewhat enjoyable. 2. The Food is the WORST FOOD IN ALL OF COSTA RICA. Egg shells and mayo in my eggs. Soggy rice and beans from three days ago. Bugs... More

Stayed with a group of about 25 and all of our toliets and showers were not working for the entire time we stayed for one night. When we told management they never came to fix them. Then at some point the security staff entered or some workers there entered the rooms and stole things from half of the group including... More

I stayed here for 2 nights, the views of the volcano were very nice. I guess if you come here for the hot springs you'll be disappointed, but if you stay here to explore the area (Palo Verde and Rincon de la Vieja are both pretty close) the springs are nice to relax after some hiking or to wake up... I worked in powerplant 500m long this hotel. Stayed for 10 nights in the special suite (but only for 60 USD), the room is enormous, and the clean is nice. During the night the hotel closes at 22:00h and no lights are left open, so as you can imagine it is very dark outside. The pool area is very good,... More
