We spent 2 nights at Mystica Lodge, in one of two jungle cabins. The accommodation was excellent. There was privacy in a natural rainforest setting. The lodge restaurant, with an Italian bent, was also excellent, with a variety of gourmet foods and desserts. The pasta bolognese was superb. A simple breakfast of eggs and local fruits is included in the... More

I´ve been visiting this hotel and restaurant for about 10 years now, so I´m going to summarize what I think are the pros and cons of this hotel in a list: - Tranquility: There is something about this place that makes you relax as soon as you check in. I don´t know if it is the view of the lake,... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights - the first stop on our belated honeymoon - the room was huge clean, comfortable and simply decorated (seemingly hard to find in this area!). The bathroom was great and the shower awesome (best on the trip maybe). The room had stunning wooden porch out front from which you could see... More

This was a stop on a bike tour, so we hadn't picked it. Lots of build up from the guides so I was somewhat sceptical, but it really lived up to the hype - a lot depends what room you get as to how great, but all I saw were beautiful. The place is set on a hillside looking over... More

The jungle cabin was gorgeous! Two walls of windows that give the feeling of being in the trees. The hardwood floors and walls nearly make it a work of art. I wish we'd had more time to just sit and.... meditate. The Mystica's definition of an outdoor shower is 3 walls and a mini waterfall with temperature controls. The fourth... More

In our travels around Costa Rica, we happened upon Mystica and as luck would have it, they had lodging available for us. What a treat it was! We walked around the grounds and sat outside in the morning and evening just gawking at the beauty that surrounds this very peaceful location. The staff were friendly and the rooms, while very simple,... More

Just came back from a couple of days at the resort. It is clean, peaceful and a little part of paradise. We had a room facing lake Arenal and enjoyed the fine Italian dining experience. It is definitely and place to go back to. It does not matter if you are into yoga or not: just peaceful mind relaxation. Pura... More

We loved this place. The owners were so nice and really cared about our stay. The food was organic and delicious. The place was beautiful - there are some small hikes (really really small if you are a hiker) from the resort, yoga in the jungle, a tree house for massage, and a natural pool. Renting a car might be... More

We were booked for 3 nights in the Ra ma da sa house. Very disappointed. No screens on windows or doors. No mattress pads on beds and very thin old sheets and only 2 pillows per bed. 3 tiny ice cube trays empty! One person in our party very sick so negotiated a 1 night stay. This was our last... More

We are very sorry that these guests' experience in the two bedroom house we rent was so disappointing. Screens were never advertised on this house as they haven't been needed due to the lack of annoyance from bugs and plenty of breeze in the area. Normally two people in a bed only require two pillows, and If more pillows are... More
