We arrived on a windy rainy night and had reserved a villa which was totally private and had a beehive fireplace already stacked with wood. Enjoyed the howling wind and pouring rain with a bottle of wine in front of a roaring fire - something we never expected to do in CR! Also took in a yoga class which has... More

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and it was a absolute delight. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff is really friendly and the vieuw is unbelievable! Breakfast and diner consisted of fresh baked products. Compared to other hotels we thought this was the best value for money.

My son, Leighton, and I and a group of friends from our Pilates Class, including our instructor, Melanie, visited this out of this world place this past June. It was probably the very best of any trip I have ever taken. The place is so gorgeous, flora and fauna, prettiest I have every seen . The rooms so tastefully decorated... More

Went on a retreat with a group and as soon as we arrived at Mystica we realized we reached paradise. The breathtaking view of the lake and volcano, welcoming staff and beautiful grounds were the beginning of this great trip. After settling in our rooms, Lori provided the group with a restorative yoga class after a long days travel. The... More

We spent 2 nights at Mystica Lodge, in one of two jungle cabins. The accommodation was excellent. There was privacy in a natural rainforest setting. The lodge restaurant, with an Italian bent, was also excellent, with a variety of gourmet foods and desserts. The pasta bolognese was superb. A simple breakfast of eggs and local fruits is included in the... More

I´ve been visiting this hotel and restaurant for about 10 years now, so I´m going to summarize what I think are the pros and cons of this hotel in a list: - Tranquility: There is something about this place that makes you relax as soon as you check in. I don´t know if it is the view of the lake,... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights - the first stop on our belated honeymoon - the room was huge clean, comfortable and simply decorated (seemingly hard to find in this area!). The bathroom was great and the shower awesome (best on the trip maybe). The room had stunning wooden porch out front from which you could see... More

This was a stop on a bike tour, so we hadn't picked it. Lots of build up from the guides so I was somewhat sceptical, but it really lived up to the hype - a lot depends what room you get as to how great, but all I saw were beautiful. The place is set on a hillside looking over... More

The jungle cabin was gorgeous! Two walls of windows that give the feeling of being in the trees. The hardwood floors and walls nearly make it a work of art. I wish we'd had more time to just sit and.... meditate. The Mystica's definition of an outdoor shower is 3 walls and a mini waterfall with temperature controls. The fourth... More

In our travels around Costa Rica, we happened upon Mystica and as luck would have it, they had lodging available for us. What a treat it was! We walked around the grounds and sat outside in the morning and evening just gawking at the beauty that surrounds this very peaceful location. The staff were friendly and the rooms, while very simple,... More
