Our family of 4, with 2 teenagers spent 3 nights at Mystica. Food at the restaurant was something we looked forward to every night . Breakfast is included. We ate dinner at the restaurant all 3 nights. After dinner we played cards in the "lodge". The rooms are functional and not too big, but they are super clean, nice linens,... More

We stopped at Mystica for one night en-route to Fortuna and it was cold and rainy so the log fire in the dining area was very welcome. Mystica caters for a specific clientele, sadly I am not one of the target market....it is a nice place and the Italian owner is a really nice guy but in my opinion there... More

Francesco and his team made us feel incredibly warm and welcomed upon our arrival at the Hotel Mystica. The lodgings were just as we expected, small and humble but clean and cozy with all the amenities we need. The special addition was an incredible view of Lake Arenal from the main house and restaurant. The hotel is very well located... More

I had the most amazing and relaxing time at Mystica...it is gorgeous there! Beyond the stunning view of the lake and Volcano and meeting the delightful staff and owners the room was outstanding! We stayed in the jungle room and you can spend hours watching the monkeys from your room, the patio or the outdoor shower...it was beautiful. We also... More

The best thing I can say about the motel is that the staff and owners are very friendly and the breakfast excellent. The room was very basic and what was called a queen bed really was a double. Shower was very good except that for the first 30 minutes it ran red with rust. Great views of Lake Arenal and... More

This Guest arrived 2 days earlier without warning Our beds are under north american standards and after 20 years of operating we know what is queen and what is full This person is lying.... the water was brown because we were working on some pipes and we did it because we were not expecting guests that day, We love people... We booked the jungle room at Mystica on our way from Liberia to Arenal. Driving into the grounds makes you feel like you are arriving at a magical resort (not because of the Merlin art either!). The manager was super sweet, and the room was clean and comfortable. The room was surrounded by the jungle, and you should be ready... More

I loved everything: the room with a magnificent view on the lake and the garden, The balcony surrounded by flowers, the garden that smells so good. The restaurant full of positive energy and delicious Italian food. The pumpkin soup was the best I had in my life and the pizza with fresh vegetables was delicious. There is a foyer with... More

Beautiful spot at the northern end of the lake: great views, really nice rooms with lots of space and a great veranda. Food was OK. Yoga studio looked wonderful but I guess we were there too early in the season, as there was no yoga person or massage person on site and both needed to be booked a day or... More

I have a friend that did bike tours. she recommended this place off the beat and path. Best suggestion. There are two showers one in room other outside. I stayed in a hammock one day taking in the view, reading, and having a bottle of wine. The food is mostly Italian at their restaurant. It was delicious. There is space... More

What a wonderfully serene setting to rest and relax. Comfortable rooms with amazing views, great gardens, a lovely restaurant for dinner and breakfast and very friendly, accommodating and hard working team making us feel very at home. Special thank you to Anita for being so welcoming and helping celebrate Susan's birthday. We didn't want to leave and hope we can... More
