We booked our stay at Cabinas Piuri from the review in Lonely Planet and were very pleased. Since we were the only guests the hosts upgraded our room to the large suite. The room was spacious, extremely clean and filled with art and very cool hand washing sinks, carved from petrified wood. We enjoyed a private swimming area on the... More

We drove past here on our way from the west coast to Arenal and stayed one night. I'd say you need a 4wd to be sure to make it here if the weather isn't nice. It was really something else! The rooms are basic but clean - and really all you need is a shower and a bed! We went... More

I wasn't prepared to go so "off the grid." While the room was basic, without internet, tv, ability to drive to it w/o a 4WD from reception--these things would have been fine had the electricity not gone out for most of the day/night. My husband had to go behind the room to check the breakers, and found that that the... More

Alexander was a very welcoming host to us during our two night stay at one of their huge double rooms. If you came the long and rough way to np Tenorio I highly recommend staying at this place. The rooms are basic but according to their price. Breakfast and dinner was fantastic, Alexander is an amazing cook - we absolutley... More

We really enjoyed our staying here. The owners were extremely helpful and let us even cook in their kitchen. A color-changing small gecko was the highlight for our kids after breakfast. The nearby river is very nice for swimming. Water is not too cold. Breakfast is simple, but enjoyable with fresh orange juice and homemade food such as gallo pinto... More

We arrived to Piuri Cabinas as part of our honey moon. We took the trip by bus (3 buses and a ride from Alexander the wonderful owner of the cabinas, who came to pick us up)- and it was beyond our dreams. Alexander and his lovely wife were the perfect hosts, they have a private piece of heaven, just few... More

Stayed at Piuri one night after a very long day. We hiked up the mountain all the way from the town of Rio Celeste (4km straight up) with our packs. When we got to piuri we thought the price of $55 for 3 of us was pretty steep considering we had just payed 8 bucks a piece the night before... More

At the end of the road, this is a nice place to relax, away from it all. It is rustic, and that is what we were looking for. A small, quaint hotel with very nice owners. Large rooms with three comfortable queen beds. Also a small refrigerator. The room also came with candles, just in case. My two grandsons and... More

We spent 3 nights in "the egg" which is a really unique acommodation! Of course, it doesn't offer 5-star-luxury but the location is priceless. The owners are lovely and very helpful, they serve delicious costarican breakfast and dinner and the sourroundings are beautiful with direct access to the blue Rio celeste. I definitely recommend this place! Cornelia from Germany
