We were in the area for canyoning and white-water rafting, so were not expecting much, but this place was really nice! Our two rooms were large and charming. The bathrooms were large and modern. The restaurant was really nice with great food and even better service. Yes, the vultures congregated on the roof of our rooms (I think we had... More

The building design is very impressive as it was once a coffee and sugar cane plantation. My room was quite comfortable with a balcony to enjoy birdwatching. The manager Jana Daigle is efficient and ensures that everything is going according to plan. I enjoyed a horseback ride on one of the plantation's horses as we rode uphill through nearby coffee... This house was once part of a coffee and sugar cane plantation, but now is a boutique hotel in lovely grounds, with stables for horse riding and a view of the Turialba volcano, which has been venting smoke and even, occasionally, lava, for the last 5 years. The rooms and beds are comfortable and it is nice to have plenty... More

Casa Turire is a nice smaller hotel. Overall I quite enjoyed it. The only complaint I could point out is that there is nothing to do near the hotel. Turrialba is a nothing little town. If you are looking to just relax, you couldn't ask for a nicer place. Air conditioning in the rooms would be a nice upgrade.

The hotel is pleasantly situated on Lake Angostura inside a prestigious hacienda. The drive-up is imposing along an alley of huge palms. In the ample garden you may observe many kinds of butterflies and domestic plants. Behind the manor house pool and jacuzzi tub invite to a refreshing bath. We booked horse-riding as horses and guides are available on the... More

You arrive through a majestic alley of palm trees and discover this hotel which looks like a cross between a colonial mansion and an Argentine Estancia. You are immediately charmed by the tasteful decor of the main hall of majestic proportions, and as you move up to your room (in our case suite 15) you take in the beautiful details. Our suite was... My husband and I spent one night here and it really was lovely. The area where it is located is way out there in Turrialba so if you want to do more adventurous or sight seeing activities you will have to look beyond the hotel. They can help you make arrangements though. The restaurant menu were delicious!

We arrived at Casa Turire and we were trownback by the looks of this hotel. Beautiful scenery, almost like a film-set. The staff will make your stay as comfortible as you wish for. Taxi, making reservations for tours, done! The restaurant was for us a little bit too pricy, but the food tasted great. We've got the suite with view... More

We were not so impressed with this hotel. It was located near the river we were rafting, otherwise we would have probably stayed elsewhere. Our initially impression was that it was charming - colonial style hotel - and reminded me a bit of Raffles in Singapore. I was wrong, it was not at all like Raffles. The room were nice... More

This hotel was a nice change compared to the other lodges and hotels we had. It has some atmosphere of luxury and although there are much more luxurious stays of course in Costa Rica the location is pretty awesome. We did the coffee tour nearby (Golden bean coffee) which was good from en educational point of view although disappointing that... More
