Stayed for two nights, hotel was quiet...indoors anyway. There was various noise coming from outside but I'm not unused to sleeping with earplugs so no major drama for me! Centrally located in the town. Room and toilet/shower facilities were clean, hosts and staff were friendly and accommodating. Parking out the front for couple of cars, secure premises. No fan or... We had read about how Turrialba had become a backwater town since the new road bypassed it and it's true. Unfortunately this hotel had the feeling of being a victim of the times. The building is shabby from the outside but you can see that it would have once been a grand place. The room was clean enough but the... More

Unfortunately we only had a very short stay at this hostel. We arrived very late at night. The owners, Patricia and her husband, took immediate care of us. They offered us to park our rental car in their garage and recommended nearby restaurants to us. Patricia is a very kind woman and we a had a wonderful evening conversation with... More

Mom grew up in NY & Dad in Costa Rica.We got a nice large room, with bath. In the city, so you have dining options. Good value. See their web site & give them a call. Cooking is not really the house specialty but you may consider have breakfast - on days that is available - here because it's pleasant.... More

Patricia and her family are incredibly kind and friendly. The first floor of the hotel is their home, and we felt right at home among them. The hotel rooms (which are a great deal at hostel prices) are clean, comfortable, and simple. The building itself is plain, without frills, and generally quiet.

I recently visited Hotel Intercontinental, as I was staying there during the CATIE fair. I have to say it is actually a good option in case you are just looking for a place to sleep, that is clean and comfortable at the same time. We booked a room for double occupation for less than $20, with private bathroom. The rooms... More

We stayed here having read some good reviews on here and in the lonely planet. The owner was absolutely lovely in sorting out everything we needed and the value was incredibly good. She arranged our rafting tour for us as well! Rooms are very basic. but incredibly clean. The hottest showers we were able to find in any budget place... More

Centrally located downtown within walking distance to everything you need. Farmer's market is right outside the door two days a week. Patricia the owner is very nice and a great resource. The rest of the staff is always super friendly and helpful. Great common space downstairs to hang out and use the wifi. Rooms are plentiful, it's a big place.... More

Accepts credit cards. Room with private bathroom costs $25. Hot water. Very clean. Optional breakfast costs $5. Owned-managed by a friendly, helpful American woman who can give you excellent advice. This is a budget hotel--not a place to spend all day in the room. Bed was comfortable, and fans are available if requested. Free wifi. Good location close to decent... More

Accommodation is pretty basic for the shared bath room options. Just a small room with a bunk bed which was a little hot so maybe ask if they have a fan? Best was Patricia the ex-pat owner with her amazing knowledge and tips that helps choose the right river rafting and other tour and transport options. Downstairs she lives with... More
