We were here for 3 nts, 2 full days. The service people were very attentive, nice, most spoke good English, and they seemed dedicated to taking care of us! Breakfasts consisted of fresh fruits and juices; I'm not a connisiour (?) of gallopinto but I sure enjoyed it! Rooms were clean, beds very comfortable & and our 2nd floor room... More

I wouldn't look too hard at the 1 and 2 star ratings. I'm not a picky traveler, and I'm one who has been on many adventure vacations. Here's what I liked: - This hotel has a great staff, one looking to take care of you and give good service. - rooms are clean and they care about the environment. (Note,... More

We found this hotel on our drive to the Caribbean side of Costa Rica and it is a fair distance from the highway, so very quiet and the area around it is lovely. The hotel itself we weren't happy with though as our room was the closest one to the restaurant, so every noise was heard in our room, from... More

stayed here for 2 nights during our Thomson Family vacation[(I have a very long review under the costa rica forums-"costa rica trip reports"- mine is #517). This was more of a staging hotel so we didn't really have time to enjoy the pool but it looked nice. They appeared to be redoing the rooms but they need more work. Rooms... More

This hotel was the low point of our otherwise wonderful trip in Costa Rica. The room was dark, dank, damp and characterless, although clean, and looked out onto some unidentifiable rusting structure. Our request to move to the upper floor of the concrete block was granted however, eventually, and there we found more light and air. The hotel was deserted... More

Villa Florencia is in a lovely peaceful location in the middle of Sugar Cane Fields, with beautiful views. It's an easy walk to the small hamlet, take some money, there is a tiny grocery shop! Try to do the Hacienda Experience while you are there, it takes in the labour intensive processing of the macadamia nut, the coffee bean and... More

The Villa Florencia is a really nice hotel that is also eco-conscious. The rooms are spacious and clean; our breakfast and dinner meals in the restaurant were tasty. Fernanda was attentive and the rest of the staff was really friendly. The hotel was a little hard to find. Its set pretty far back from the road, so I'm glad we... More

The folks at Villa Florencia make a stay there "part of the family." Great food. Staff is very accommodating. I came away absolutely stuffed from the breakfast as well as the two dinners that I enjoyed. The server recognized I liked the pineapple dessert--and she hand wrote the recipe and instructions for me!

My daughter and I recently spent two nights at Hotel Villa Florencia - as 'stop over' stay on our travels between the Pacific and Caribbean coasts. While it served its purpose of providing us with a convenient starting point for our rafting trip on the Pacuare River (which was awesome!!) and the staff was very friendly, we felt uncomfortable there... Well, it's hard and sad for me to write this review. They had the most best intentions to make our time as plesent as they can. Very kind, very warm people, Best intentions. Too bad the result was diffrent. The first nigth was terrible, the bed wasn't convenient, we hardly get some sleep. Remember i told you about the great... More
