My family (2 adults, 2 children - ages 9 and 12) spent three nights at Guayabo Lodge. We were in a room on the second floor with gorgeous views of the valley. We flew into San Jose and drove to the lodge. We had a GPS so the lodge was easy to find. Pedro and his team were excellent hosts!... More

Very well located lodge, with a great view of the valley and the volcanoes. Many rooms have balconies overlooking the valley. The rooms are spacious with modern bathrooms. Nice common areas to relax and read. The dinner menu choice is however limited. Overall, a very pleasant stop-over during the long journey across the mountains to travel from the Caribbean to... Our 2-night visit to Guayabo Lodge March 2015 was extremely comfortable and welcoming. From here our objective was easily reached to tour the Pre-Columbian Guayabo village dig site, a national monument, the only real such ancient site in Costa Rica and an education in itself. Read up on it beforehand or employ the services of a guide at the park... More

I stayed here for two nights in February of 2015. The owners and staff are all very friendly and helpful. When I arrived, I needed help getting my cell phone working with a Costa Rica company called Movistar. The woman at the reception helped me interpret the Spanish messages that I was receiving and said I just ran out of... More

Guayabo Lodge was the most incredibly relaxing and delightful spot to stay. Our room was very comfortable with a wonderful view of the volcano. The grounds were spectacular and the sunrise our first morning was beautiful. Our group experienced a cooking lesson with Roseanna as we 'helped' prepare our dinner which was a great time. The final production of that... More

Ok, but a little overpriced. The constant talk about the great gourmet food - was a disappointment . Food was mediocre I was interested in a Costa Rican experience instead I got an over priced European where reality didn't live up to the hype.

I stayed for two nights in the Guayabo Lodge and every morning we woke up, we had a stunning view! At one side you could see the smoking volcano and at the other side you could see the view over the Turrialba Valley. Really beautiful! The breakfast and the dinner where nice and the staff was very friendly. They helped... More

In May I enjoyed a wonderful stay in this lodge. I visited a wedding of a friend, organized in the tropical garden. Unforgettable! In the garden I spotted beautiful flowers and butterflies and birds. In the morning the smoke of the volcano is visible. I loved the food as well. The lady and het husband are very nice people. They... More

Stayed 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Room we had was large and spacious, located on the second floor. Room and overall hotel grounds are very clean. Bed linen was of good quality. It had a nice small balcony perfect for watching the sunset with some wine. We had a view of Turrialba and at night the city lights made... More

Guayabo Lodge is nestled in the shadow of the Turrialba volcano... and the views of the surrounding area speak for themselves! Our morning vista of the volcano from our bed was absolutely beautiful. The Lodge is a great place to base yourself if you are in the Turrialba area for rafting or the monument. The hotel staff are very friendly... More
