Six of us stayed in two cabanas for 3 nights. I never anticipated such beautiful accommodations so deep and high in the beautiful mountains of the Costa Rica rain forest. As the owner and a true master chef, José Alvarez Mejías exceeded all of our expectations for lodging, service and dining. In addition to enjoying the beautiful surroundings (hiking and... More

This is a very, very special place. Host, Jose, is an absolute gem, as were all the staff. His cooking is superb, and his hospitality just perfect. There were so many delightful, thoughtful touches, we cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. Delightful cabins, set in the forest, with stunning views. Great hike in the forest to a waterfall. Beautiful... More

A beautiful spot in the mountains and one of my best diner experiences in Costa Rica! José Alvarez is pura vida, slow cooking and a wonderful host. Rooms are very good, we had a wonderful night and slept like baby's near the waterfall!

If you love the mountain views, this is the place for you. Not only is it located at the top of a beautiful mountain, they have an amazing waterfall (which I could here the water from my room) with various kinds of plants and trees. The rooms are very well decorated and the bathroom has an outside shower! The owner... More

We felt like home from the first minute, taken care of by José and his staff in the best possible way. Fantastic breakfasts and dinners. Our bungalow, embedded in the jungle with a waterfall view, was purely outstanding. Starting up the day in the designed outdoor shower (indoor also, thank you for that), accompanied by hummingbirds, was a new, refreshing... More

Loved our stay here!! The mountains and waterfall and peacefulness were wonderful! Really enjoyed the food. We did chose to eat lite-soup, salad, fish and found these above average. Chef/proprietor is a delight! Room great-clean, modern, air. A bit of walk but husband did fine and he has difficulties in that area.

The trip up the rustic road is rewarded by a extraordinary experience : beautifully located, nestled on a forest slope, within 5 minutes from a spectacular waterfall the hotel offers a warm welcome, delightful, straight forward cuisine (and we are french-swiss.rather demanding)prepared by the owner(José) who is a talented chef. No TV,thank God !Just silence, quiet, total relaxation in cabins featuring a good bed,and a simple... More

Beautiful place, delicious food, great service!!! It's been very long since my husband and I had a weekend this relaxing and peaceful. The view from the room was amazing, all surronded by mountains. There is no TV in the rooms so you really can enjoy the quietness of the place. The owner, José, is an amazing person who made us... More

Other reviewers are perfectly correct when they say that this an amazing little retreat, up a long, steep road that never seems to end. The views are terrific and the silence is deafening. There is a waterfall that has a small deck with chairs (and a toilet) where you can relax and watch: you are simply surrounded by nature. The... More
