My husband and I spent two nights here to kick off our trip in Costa Rica. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The lodge is nestled in the hills near a dairy farm with beautiful views of the surrounding hills. The employees were friendly, and our room was spacious and clean. (We stayed in the garden view room.)... More

What a beautiful hotel! Super clean and the grounds are gorgeous. Make sure to read the book in the library area that tells the place's history, quite interesting. Also, take a walk on their trails. You won't see another soul and you really get a feel for the old farming style of the area. Be sure to put "Poas VOLCANO... More

We stayed for one night in a garden view room. The "garden" is a nice but small area that is the center of the driveway circle in between the bunkhouse and the main lodge. The view out the back is of a small hill about 20 meters away leading into a cow pasture. As mentioned in a previous review, these... More

Nicest in the area. Stylish facility, old school throwback with game room, cozy reading room and fine nature trails. Gentle and warm service. Has the feeling of being very intimate and exclusive in an easy and breezy way.

We stayed here for our first night in Costa Rica, the staff were incredibly helpful allowing us to order dinner when we arrived late from the airport and then letting us use the phone when we had hire car problems the following morning. We stayed in a Garden room as we weren't looking to spend a fortune on a one... More

We stayed at this Lodge for two nights in December. The main building is very warm and welcoming. We also met fellow travelers with whom we shared dinner and had a wonderful time. The hosts were helpful and accommodating. The negatives - these is a very large drop off between the quality of rooms in the main building and the... More

little bit hard to find the lodge in the dark, as the dirt road looks like leading to a farm between the cows... very nice and cosy veranda and sitting room, but only wine, no beer. the rooms in the main building are very large and clean. everything feels a bit moist, but the second day we received a hot... We only stayed here for 1 night but it was so lovely and the people were fantastic. The night we stayed (early Dec) was rainy but they had umbrellas available everywhere and it was lovely to warm up by the wood fire. We stayed in one of the garden rooms with 2 beds (Heliconia I think) and it was great... More

Really had no idea what to expect. The service, rooms, and food were very good. We had the hummingbird room that is in the lodge and thought it met our needs very well. Clean and comfortable. Has a wonderful view of the volcano. We liked the hot water bottle that was put in our room at night. Nice little touch.... More

I wish my house looked like this. Stunning design and use of wood throughout. Excellent, friendly customer service. Extremely comfortable bed and huge room / bathroom. Good view of the volcano, weather permitting. Games room and nice wood burner in lounge: very welcome given it was rather chilly. Down a longish track off the main road, so try to get there... More
