Very comfortable and clean rooms. Gorgeous view of the valley below that you can enjoy - especially at night - in front of a roaring fire in the fireplace. The food is perfection and the hosts are warm, inviting and a great source of tourist info.

We stayed here for only one night after our flight was delayed by 24 hours. Stephan was amazing & so supportive in accommodating us on our late night arrival. This place has stunning views & the atmosphere is so relaxed & friendly. We were gutted not to be able to stay longer. Breakfast was high quality & substantial - all... More

Friendly hosts, comfortable rooms, excellent food, magnificent surroundings, what else one wants? The temperature outside was a bit chilly but once inside...it was forgotten. Thank you Jim and Stephan.

This was strange for sure we are use to larger brand Name hotels but this was so close to the park it made sense. The host are very freindly and yes it feels like their home. They showed us the room and although older it was clean and athough small held all three of us comfortably. Everything worked so no... More

Thank you Jimmie and Stephan for making the start of our trip wonderful! These two brothers make the best hosts. In summary - great view, great food, comfy rooms. Great place to stay. These guys are great - they take great care to look after their guests. Dinner is cooked by Stephan, to order, using locally sourced ingredients. Big portions.... More

We stayed here for just 1 night and wish it could have been longer. Jimmy and Stephan were the best hosts we could have hoped for. Relaxed atmosphere, small lodge (just 5 rooms) great common area. Stephan is a wonderful cook! Nothing like chili made by a Texan on a cool night. All the food is locally grown. It was... More

Perfectly located only 4km from the park entrance, Poas Lodge sits at 7100 ft and provides the most amazing views. Hosts Jimmie and Stephan are very welcoming and helpful. Staying here is more like staying with friends than in a hotel. Sitting around the log fire in the evening was wonderful and whenever possible, Jimmie would come and talk to... More

When we arrived at Poas Lodge we didn't think we were in the correct place as the small entrance area is perched on the top of the hill on the side of the road to Volcan Poas but once inside, we were greeted by the the very friendly and helpful owners and realized the rooms are below the restaurant/bar. The... More

We stayed at the Lodge for one night in mid-February. The owners are very friendly, helpful and laid back - their approach to running the hotel seems to be more as a life-style choice than as a money making business. There are pluses and minuses to this: on the one hand, the place is very relaxed; on the other, a... More

Poas lodge is more of a tico lodge. Not fancy, but functional. We only had breakfast at the lodge as the restaurant was closed for dinner. Bring some warm clothes as the elevation is approx. 2200 m and heating is basically nothing in the rooms. The oldest of the two brothers was an excellent host and provided some great insight...
