This hotel has an interesting setting being set on a steep slope at the side of the road. The reception and restaurant are on a level with the road but the rooms are underneath this with 2 rooms on one floor and 2 rooms underneath that. This unusual setup means that each room has panoramic views of the valley where... More

This spot is so wonderful!!!! The grounds are incredible, the staff warm and welcoming, the food top notch, and the rooms are beautiful. We arrived to find both our rooms upgraded. What a unexpected treat for us. This place is certainly a little piece of paradise.

The lodge is in a great location - not too far from San Jose and only 5/10 mins drive from the volcano. The lodge itself is quite rustic and there is a fab view from the rooms and the breakfast area. The rooms are comfortable and the staff made us feel very welcome.

This was a great place to stay near the volcano. The staff was so friendly and interesting, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable! Though it's rustic by American standards, it was a wonderful experience. The food was great, too, and reasonably priced.

.Thank you for your review. Yes we are rustic and comparable to Costa Rican standards. Which I might add is also part of the America's. We are proud of our little home (B&B) on top of the volcano. The "staff" aka Jimmie and Stephan (also the owners) thank you. Pura Vida! More

Close to Poasito on a side road is the Poas Lodge, by far the nicest location to stay when visiting the Poas Volcano area. Cozy and stylish rooms overlooking the volcano with great meals and ambiance. Make sure you walk the trails including the Quetzal trail, if you lucky you may see one. Enjoy chatting with the employees, and if... More

We spent two nights with Jimmie and Stephan and loved the location, the lodge and the vibe. This was our first stop in Costa Rica, we arrived after dark after a very long day of travel and were welcomed by two friendly hosts, a cozy lounge complete with roaring fire, a yummy home-cooked meal and a view of twinkling lights... All the rooms and the restaurant have a great view on the valley. The food is really good for a good price. Hotelroom could be cleaner and was not cleaned during our stay for 2 nights. They didn't have any coffee during the day (except for breakfast) because every room has it's own (old-fashioned) coffeemachine.

Me and my friends were blown away by how awesome the views were from this place. The place was clean and we had excellent service by the staff. I live in Dominical and took my friends there to check out the volcano and was hard to believe I was still in Costa Rica. It was cold but a good cold.... More

The hotel is in a good location if you plan to visit Poas Volcano and La Paz Waterfalls. Owners are friendly. Free wifi worked ok. We had a king bed with a bunk bed, our bed was comfortable but I think the place deserves a bit of TLC + some deep cleaning (it can be a problem if you are... More

We really enjoyed everything about Poas Lodge! My husband and I spent two weeks in Manuel Antonio for our honeymoon taking in the beach, jungle, wildlife, adventures; then added one night to our trip to make it out to Poas Volcano. On our way up to Poas Lodge, we stopped at a coffee shop (which has delicious coffee with a... More
