CAUTION: WE WERE ROBBED BY AN EMPLOYEE!!! While staying here with friends, our money was stolen from inside our LOCKED room. We left our purses in our rooms, locked all the doors and windows, and went to breakfast in the main lobby. While we were there, someone with a key went in our room and stole more than $600 from... When you visit another country one just has to depend on the reviews and your travel agent. I had a better than expected stay in Monteverde but a worse than expected stay at this hotel. It got 2 stars for the location (just at the base of the volcano with views from everywhere) ,for the manager ( she arranged for... More

Stopped in after a long walk from the center of town looking for a hot spring experience late in the afternoon. We weren't comfortable with paying close to 70 dollars set price for all the other over crowded, extravagant hotels with springs so we walked until we came across this lil gem. We were immediately greeted by Minor who we... More

There are less than a dozen rooms and the property is large and private with beautiful different temperature pools. The view of the Volcano is unbeatable (so close you feel you can walk to it) . Due to the limited number of rooms you will get superb service and they will accommodate any request. We had a beautiful honeymoon exploring... More

We stayed there in early February after the change in management. The hotel is small and clean and the staff are very helpful, but it seems to be missing a few key pieces that you would expect for the price. The sheets and towels were threadbare, and the bed had no mattress pad. It was one of the hardest mattresses... More

A very comfortable inexpensive hotel located 2 miles from town of La Fortunate. Stayed whilst on tour with 16 British travellers - manager of 2 weeks couldn't have been more helpful . Sorted out bathroom problems quickly and politely . Laundry was done overnight and inexpensive. Breakfast was basic although ham and eggs were excellent . Hot spring pools were... More

Don't let go by the bad reviews, it's really a nice place to stay. Minor, the manager is an excellent person that really tries his bed to make everyone feel like home, the Peruvian chef is amazing and the food couldn't be better... Has a great location, close to everything but yet not at all noisy, plus has the beautiful... More

We were supposed to go there, fortunately though we had troubles with our reservation and didn't have to stay there. We were free to choose other hotels. After having visited others in the area I could compare really good and fact is that value for money wise - this hotel is really bad. They charge u middle class, but u... More

Small, 11 attached rooms, one floor and all rooms facing the nicely kept tropical garden, owned by a local and managed by a very friendly and ready to serve staff. Included a tasty typical breakfast (not much variety), a hot spring and cooling pools. The rooms were not luxurious but comfortable and had everything we needed. The grounds are very... More
