We stayed for 3 nights, mum, dad and an 8 year old boy. We did a lot of activities and spent little time in the hotel other than late in the afternoon by the swimming pool. The hotel is made up of semi-detached bungalows set in well maintained gardens, spaced out over a very large area, and has a slight feel... More

I admit that my expectations might be a little much when I'm in a foreign country. Especially if you're not paying 4 Seasons prices. That's why I was so happy about the Manoa. It's a true resort with outdoor cabanas for massages, happy hour in the pool with swim-up bar, and close proximity to the adventure sports. The free breakfast... More

This property is huge and gorgeous. There are two rooms to each little building, and each room has two queen size beds and a HUGE and luxurious bathroom. From your beds, you can open up the drapes and the entire front of the room is glass facing the volcano. If it isn't shrouded in mist or cloud, it is beautiful.... More

I stayed at Arenal Manoa for two nights during my one week trip to Costa Rica in March. There are so many hotels in this area that it was difficult to find one that was affordable but also nice. I felt that Arenal Manoa was a wonderful place to stay. The hotel grounds are spread out, which I liked, and... More

This is a funny place. The rooms are their own building, all facing the volcano, lovely and spacious. But you feel like you are in a suburban retirement community. Very paved, very groomed, very controlled. The pool area is very paved. You don't feel like you are in a mountain-side jungle area at all. But for those who cannot get... More

Stayed here for a few days recently and found it rather impersonal and quite commercially orientated (tipping culture plus eg- only way to get an umbrella bearing in mind frequent tropical rain storms was to buy one etc etc). The (unheated but nice temp) pool was lovely with a view of the volcano and the swim up bar no realistic... More

This hotel has some outstanding qualities, and some problems, but we fondly remember the week in Arenal Manoa as pleasurable, so I rate it 4. The property is truly amazing, the landscape staged exactly the way I as a tourist want to find it - shallow hills covered with thick tropical plants and grass, views of the magical Arenal Volcano... Arrived here yesterday after spending 4 days at an amazing hotel in Manuel Antonio.....unfortunately my experience here hasn't been quite as great. My husband and I have really felt like we have been "intruding" on the restaurant staff which is a little uncomfortable. The dining room is virtually empty but the service hasn't reflected the amount of time that they... More

Supposedly there is Wifi available in rooms, not the case in mine as I had to practically huddle in a corner of the room to get any sort of signal. Certainly wouldn't stay here if you didn't have a car as the restaurant is appalling, it is a $25 return trip cab ride away from town and there is no... More
