My husband and I traveled with our son and his six-year-old daughter. We rented a car in Liberia and drove to La Fortuna and the Arenal Manoa. We were warmly welcomed and that was just the beginning of a good stay for the four days we were there. The property is very spacious and spread out, the room was quite... More

Be careful when booking through a discount website as it was 50% more than the nightly rate offered to the public! When expressed disappointment nobody cared! Hotel show a laundromat but you can´t do it yourself. Expensive! Advertised Wi Fi in the rooms didn´t work. It took 15 minutes to get a 2 for one happy hour drink at the... More

Management response:

Dear Lisa, Thank you for taking the time to write a review, and I am so sorry to hear that your experience with the booking process and some other aspects related to your stay were disappointing. Although, we don’t fully understand what the promo inconvenience was. On the other hand, self-service laundry facilities are not provided in the hotel. Concerning... More

Hotel is located down a gravel road which was nice as there was no traffic noise. Room was nice size with a great view of Arenal volcano from our patio. Grounds were beautiful. Pool very nice. People friendly. We did not have a car but no problem taxi arranged for us whenever we needed it. They can arrange any tours... More

We (family of 4, two adults and 12 and 8 year old) stayed four nights at the Arenal Manoa in June 2012. The hotel grounds are very nice and the view of the volcano is wonderful. We really liked the placement of our room 201 as it was close to the main restaurant and the main pool and allowed us... More

There is nothing not to like about this resort. The grounds are beautiful and the duplex rooms spaced nicely to give some privacy as you sit on your little porch. Very good food and helpful staff. It is a little unhandy to get to Fortuna, but with a car that is no issue. The hot springs pool is where we... More

We spent 2 nights at Arenal Manoa after driving in from Liberia and making an extensive detour due to a washed-out bridge. By the time we rolled in it was well past 1am and we were worried that the desk would be closed for check-in, but the night watchman had all our information and quickly called for another guard to... Nice greeting when we arrived, cool fruit drink waiting & all our reservation info ready to go.(and we didn't arrive at a scheduled time, we self drove & just rolled in) Beautiful, expansive grounds, but very spread out, you really need a car to go here, otherwise... We much enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is set in peaceful, extensive gardens a few kms outside La Fortuna on the road to the volcano. It is necessary to use a taxi to get to La Fortuna. The rooms and bathrooms are large and comfortable, with clear views of the volcano through huge sliding glass doors. The rooms are... More

My fiancé and I stayed at Manoa for the first leg of our trip to Costa Rica and I would highly recommend it. The staff was incredibly friendly, from the moment we arrived (including booking us a shuttle from San Jose after our very delayed flight landed and we'd missed our previously planned transport). They also helped us book any... More
