We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of May and we loved it. We drove from San Jose which is about a 3-4 hour drive but would not recommend driving at night since the roads are so narrow and windy. Once we got there we were immediately checked in and booked some tours for the next few days.... More

Spectacular location in nature, beautiful and clean, and well worth the vist. First time near a volcano and unforgettable experience. ]The staff was superb.

We stayed at El Silencio for two nights in early May 2011. It was our first trip to Costa Rica and first destination upon arriving from the states. Although the ride from San Jose is a bit long and bumpy, it's well worth the trip to Arenal (incredible landscape) and El Silencio is a perfect place to stay when you're... More

My fiance and I, along with my 11 and 13 year old daughters stayed at the Silencio del Campo for four nights in March. We all LOVED it! The grounds were beautiful, the rooms were beautiful (and very clean!), the staff was very friendly - our stay couldn't have been better. Well, if the volcano had been erupting, that would... More

Read so many great reviews, but have to say it was even more beautiful and nicer than I expected. We paid a little more because we were there Easter week, but even with the extra amount, would stay again. Wonderful hot spring, no need to pay to go anywhere else, beautiful views. LOVED IT! Only downsides ( and for some... More

My daughter had stayed at the Hotel El Silencio del Campo several years ago and never forgot the people who owned it and how nice they were to her. So, when she decided to get married a year ago there was no place else she wanted to do it at. After working with my daugher and son in law for... More

My husband and I had a lovely stay at this hotel, looking up at the peak of Arenal The staff were very friendly, the grounds were beautiful, and our villa was very cute, clean, and comfortable. This is very peaceful place well suited to honeymooners. The free facial was fantastic.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Silencio for 4 nights & 5 days. We are from NYC and needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of city living. We were looking for a smaller hotel that was close to the activities in & around Arenal Volcano that didn't cost a fortune. Hotel Silencio gave us all that... More

My family including spouse and five children (ages 19 down to 5-year old twins) stayed at El Silencio Del Campo last week during Easter break - what most call the "super high" season. We HIGHLY recommend El Silencio to all - including families with children, honeymooners or just those who want to be in close proximity to downtown La Fortuna.... More

We considered staying at the Arenal Observatory Lodge but we were glad we selected this hotel. The room was lovely-the breakfast is great. The hot spring pool is fine and not crowded. Great massage. It is lovely and well landscaped. You can go to the Arenal Observatory Lodge for the day -- pay $4 -- and be closer to the... More
