The birds that came to the feeders in the morning were incredible. Breakfast was adequate and is pretty much the same in similar hotels. The cabins were quiet and clean. When we first arrived, I wondered why our cabin was so far away from the office. In the morning I realized it was because they were full. If want a... More

This place is perfect for the cost-conscious travel or. The owner is very nice and very helpful. The cabins are quiet, quaint and clean. It is a longer walk to town than expected, but that wasn't much of a factor for us. The pool was clean and nice. We recommend this as a great hotel for most people.

Basics of the huts is ok. End result is poor. Garden is very nice. Management of the hotel is not ambitious. No info can be obtained. As customer you are a pain in their neck. Location is ok. The village of La Fortune is a busy location. Tourist offices ask high prices. It is difficult to get an overall picture.... More

Our cabin was clean & updated with a new modern bathroom. There was a TV & plenty of storage space plus the view of Arenal volcano was magnificent. We had a small porch overlooking native plants. the grounds was magnificently tended with flowers blooming throughout plus there was a very nice swimming pool. The staff was friendly & helpful, booking our... Stayed at Montechiari for just one night and it was quite adorable. The bungalow (or cabina) was very clean and spacious - but they are literally side-by-side so not a great deal of privacy. Incredibly hot shower. Wifi is only in the area of reception, which is some distance from the rooms. Pool was clean and refreshing and a great... More

We stayed here for 3 days over Christmas because we left it to the last minute and other places were already booked. The grounds are nice and the view of Arenal was spectacular. The cabins are rustic and close together. One hears what the neighbours on either side are up to. Unfortunately for us one of them had a baby... More

Okay-here's the deal. This place is inexpensive. You aren't going to get the hot springs experience here. We did the super nice resort down the street and needed a place to stay so we could extend our trip. They didn't have anymore rooms at the resort so we decided what it would be like to do a budget hotel. The... More

Read a number of reviews with the same complaints. Lighting, hot water, language issues. Now I will debunk or help you avoid these issues. First off, it's Costa Rica, a number of people do speak English or broken English. And yes, most of the staff here do not speak English. But, if you take the time to learn a few... More

The grounds of this place are as nice as a well kept parkland, how they do it I don't know. The staff are friendly and helpful, the units cute cabinas with decent beds and bedding. The cabin we were in was new, clean. The value is there. But with a couple small changes it could be a much nicer stay.... More

On the one hand: this place is clean and well kept - the bed was big and comfortable and the gardens are lovely. The breakfast wasn't bad - the friendly staff gave us corn tortillas on request. On the other hand: they failed to provide the basics that are advertised or one might reasonably expect. Water seems an issue. We... More
