My family (2 kids 13 and 15 and my husband) stayed here last week and it was fantastic!! The tree houses are wonderful, very clean and the setting is fantastic. We had a blast sitting our our porch watching the birds, bats and monkeys. We stayed in the Sloth unit which my sons loved because they climbed a steep ladder... More

For the young and young at heart...we had a delightful stay at the Tree House Hotel! We kept the tree house a surprise for our 10 year old son who couldn't believe his eyes when we drove up to the Sloth House and told him this was our "hotel room". The house was just the right size with a comfy... More

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teenagers) stayed two nights in the Monkey Treehouse. No TV. No wifi. I loved that. I got up early every morning and sat on the deck to have a cup of coffee and listen and watch for birds (a thermos of coffee is delivered to your tree house deck around 6am). The breakfast... More

I hate to be the party-pooper here, but our experience was not at all as others have posted. Mark and Lucy were great...they are gracious and will do whatever they need to make your stay enjoyable. But the rest was just ok. The grounds are very nice...you definitely feel like you are staying inthe Jungle. Lots of birds, trees, snakes,... More

If you like to fall asleep and wake to the sounds of nature, be close to everything the Arenal area has to offer, AND eat a DELICIOUS breakfast in a fantastic rainforest setting where you can't see or hear the other guests, this is your place. The staff are incredible (Mark helped us book a family zip line trip while... More

We had the Sloth Treehouse for 3 nights. We booked a little over 2 months in advance and at that point the Frog and Toucan tree houses were already taken, so book early. Tree Houses was far and away our favourite hotel in Costa Rica, and we loved all our hotels! In fact, I would say it was the best... More

This was our first stop in Costa Rica and we could not have been more pleased. We stayed in the Sloth House and really enjoyed having coffee on our balcony and watching the wildlife every morning. Breakfast was delicious and Mark and Lucy were wonderful hosts; they answered every question, made great recommendations and treated us like old friends. There... More

Tree Houses Hotel was a terrific place to stay! Centrally located to all the activities we were scheduled for in the Arenal Volcano region (a car is a must!). The houses are really neat... like camping in the sky with your own shower, refrigerator and air conditioning. You are awakened early by the activity of the howler monkeys and the... More

Thanks to Mark and Lucy for the best hospitality. The location, food (best ever) & accommodations. If you are looking for out of the ordinary stay. This is the place. I can't say enough. My family had a blast. Mark help setup our tours. I'll write about those too. Rolando (night security) is awesome for night tours of wild life... More

An exceptional experience. Private tree houses give you the feeling you are alone in the jungle. Coffee delivered each morning on your private balcony to enjoy while watching the birds dine on their fruit is a once in a lifetime experience. Howler monkeys, agoutis and toucans to see without leaving the grounds. Breakfast was exception too. Mark and Lucy were... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tree Houses Hotel is a bed and breakfast hotel conveniently located off the main road that runs through La Fortuna and around the Arenal Volcano. We are a short 25 minute drive to the high tourist area. People seek us out with that in mind, to be away from it all but close enough to enjoy all the fun adventure the La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area has to offer. We have just 5 tree houses (each very private) on 8 acres and we are surrounded by a 70 acre wildlife refuge with a waterfall, pools to swim and a beautiful river. Each tree house features A/C, warm water showers, refrigerators and safes. There are few hotels like this in the world and none other in Costa Rica. There is something so very exciting about spending the night high in the forest canopy, wildlife all around you, safe and cozy in a tree house hotel in Costa Rica. ... more   less
