We enjoyed our stay. We stayed two nights and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Michael and "hammer hands" we're great company at the bar. The rooms were dark and a little musty but overall no problems. It was raining so this may have contributed to the musty room. Nice to refrigerator in room. Pool was cold but there were... More

We arrived in LaFortuna and found the hotel easily. They offered many choices of activities that can be booked through them directly. This was not necessary as we had rented a car but its nice to know they provide that. The breakfast served everyday was good. Typical for this type hotel but you won't leave hungry. I did not like... I gave this place two stars: one for the pool area, and the other for the breakfast. Those are about the only positives I could think of, however. We rented one of the cabins at this hotel and it looked so nice from the outside. When we got inside, there were ants everywhere. We were not expecting to see so... More

We were staying on the pacific coast and did a 3 day/2 night excursion to La Fortuna to see the volcano. The company who did our excursion booked our hotel for us. It was a decent hotel. The pool was cold and the "hot tubs" were luke warm. It rained the entire first day and night we were there. The... More

One of the delights of traveling in Costa Rica is the absence of big hotel chains; each locally owned hotel and restaurant has its own personality. The restaurant staff at La Pradera was especially welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were very good and very generous. There are 4 swimming pools; a shallow one for kids, a large one with a... Decent hotel. Stayed in the bungalow. No where to really put your bags (bench or hooks) and expect wildlife in your room! Wasn't my favourite but served the purpose. Breakfast is quite good. Not far from the Center of La Fortuna. Staff were friendly but did not go out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay.

For example, on catching my shuttle, I inadvertently left my shoulder bag hanging on a chIr in the restaurant (containing passport, billfold, electronics). When I discovered what I had done in a panic, the shuttle driver called back to the hotel and my bag arrived wrapped up at my hotel in Monteverde that evening! This miracle saved my vacation in... We had booked an ATV tour from them. But the ATV tour they offered was a huge disappointment. Unexciting trip and rude guide. We had lunch from the restaurant. It was pretty good. We didn't stay there. So I am not sure about rooms there. But all amenities look clean and well maintained.

Loved the spacious bungalow, stand-alone with no common walls. Front porch to gaze at the volcano while sipping your favorite beverage. Lots of great animal activity at night. Also, the staff was great and let us know all the tours and activities available. Outdoor and covered hot tubs were great and handy when the rain began pouring down. Also, we... More

Nice clean room. Lovely big shower. Friendly bartender and waiters. We were there 2 nights and enjoyed the breakfast. There was a hot tub and pool, but we didn't use it. Many people were going on four wheelers if that is your thing. Enjoyed the TV and found an English station!
