I read the reviews, & I almost didn't stay at Linda Vista because of some of the bad things people said. Having just returned, I am astonished that someone could stay at Linda Vista and not love it. First the negatives. 1) Okay, the food is overpriced and average ($25-50 for a couple with drinks) -- but that's pretty common... more

I stayed at Linda Vista del norte for precisely one reason for the view. Thankfully I was able to get that.. because it wasn't too cloudy. But I had a bad experience there. The owner of the hotel didn't follow up with me despite my repeated mails for a meagre apology. Moreover, the hotel is too far from town.. the... more

In a two week stay in Costa Rica, where overall the standard of accommodation was very high, Hotel Linda Vista was the worst place we stayed. Our room was a junior suite, which had a great picture window overlooking the volcano (the standard rooms seemed to overlook the carpark and face away from the view). The location was great overall... more

I loved it so much I went back for another stay. Paid a little more for a suite but oh so worth it to watch the lava flowing from the bed and AC. The pool is totally awesome!!! The colors change at night, swim up bar and the hot tub very relaxing. The food was ok with the chicken rice... more

Rooms were clean and spacious, we had a Junior Suite with a fantastic view on the Volcano and the lake. Breakfast was very good, whilst the restaurant offers wonderful steaks, and has a good wine list. Infinity pool looked very nice with Volcano view jacuzzi. Road to get there is a bit rough but not so bad, especially if you... more

Stayed at Linda Vista with my family recently. I have mostly positive things to say about the hotel, rooms, property, pool, restaurant, and overall service. The only issue I had with this hotel for me and my family was the location. If you are looking to get away from it all and have some peace and quiet for a few... more

This hotel has a great volcano view (not as good as the Observatory Lodge, but great), but the grumpiest staff. After enjoying 2 weeks of Tico hospitality in other parts of the country, we were mystified by how this hotel managed to hire so many grumpy people. The receptionist didn't want to come out of our office to check us... more

The hotel is just beautiful, with a breathtaking view of the Arenal Volcano and the Arenal Lagoon. The hotel is small, yet all the rooms are very well distributed among the mountain side. There are three types of rooms, standard, junior suite and honeymoon suite. We stayed at the junior suite and I really recommend this one, as it has... more

My wife and I found this hotel from www.arenal.net (highly recommend the site if you are going to be spending time in or around Arenal). The hotel gets you about as close as you can to the volcano. The views are great we even saw lava at night. I recommend staying a few days so you get a clear shot... more

We drove all the way from San Jose (the last hour traveling up a pothole strewn road in the rain), and arrived only to be told that they did not have a room for us. Even though we had a copy of an e-mail from from Linda Vista confirming our reservation for that night, the desk clerk claimed to have... more
