The hotel was beautiful-great views of the volcano-We stayed in the luxury suites-which gave us 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms-one outdoor shower-and 1 indoor. The resort is very hilly-so there was a lot of walking to get to the restaurant-they offer a golf cart shuttle that will pick you up-but it was easier/quicker for us to walk-not a place for... More

First of all, my wife and I are realistic about travel but we do have certain expectations. When we decided to visit Costa Rica we put together our own trip after talking to many friends and reading many reviews. International travel is always a bit of a leap of faith. There are many factors that can make or break a... More

The hotel was located further than we had expected, but it was worth it. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a little musty at first, but we were right in the middle of a beautiful rainforest. It rained the whole time that we were there, but I have never felt more relaxed from a vacation. There... More

Great view from my room but unfortunately the roof leaked in the torrential rain storm that passed through and my outside jacuzzi tub needed repairs when I got there. I ordered a steak for room service (not recommended) and the resort was virtually empty. Breakfast was buffett and typical (unfortunately it was empty in the restaurant) I was a solo... More

We love the location. Watching the volcano spew lava at night is like having your own, personal fireworks show. The hotel is walking distance to the Hanging Bridges trail which I highly recommend. We even passed a toucan's nest on the hike and it's amazing to watch the leaf-cutter ants in their long lines. Our favorite experience was opening our... More

The resort itself is beautiful, lush greens and beautiful pools (with swimup bar). The staff were friendly and helpful especially seeing as our first room did not have any air conditioning and it was hot. They happily switched us out to a larger suite with a hot tub, so we were pleased. The restaurant on site was empty, but we... More

We just returned from a 4-night stay at the Lost Iguana and loved every minute of it. We have stayed at this property before, and I had mentioned to them that this was a return trip for us. Imagine our surprise when we went to our room and saw fresh flowers with a little "welcome back" note, a bottle of... More

The Lost Iguana is a very unique resort. I described it, and maybe this is not accurate, but as a very upscale resort "camp". That word camp may turn you off but it shouldn't. It is definitely still a resort with a great spa, a swim up bar, a very nice restaurant. But it is also has a very earthy... More

I dare say this was our favorite place in Costa Rica. Perfect place for a honeymoon (even a wedding!). Beautiful grounds with great views of the volcano (our room had a private patio with a wonderful view). A nature lovers' paradise. You can walk around the stone pathways to visit different areas. There is a heated pool open in the... More

We stayed here 3 nights and loved it, We had booked 1 night at Tabacon & wished we were back at the Lost Iguana.. So layed back, Lots of walking, Loved the views, we had the king bed with the outside shower & jacuzzi on the porch, We would sit for hours on the porch and watch the volcano, Very... More
