Our family of 4 (two sons ages 12 and 15) spent two nights at The Lost Iguana, and wished we'd stayed longer. The resort is quiet and secluded with beautiful, extensive gardens, a great view of Arenal volcano, inviting pool, nice restaurant and food, and friendly and accommodating staff. Although June is supposed to be in the "green" (rainy) season,... More

We went to Costa Rica for 2 weeks, and this was by far the best hotel we stayed at. We splurged and got the Luxury Suites (outdoor showers, bathtub on the porch). The food at the restaurant was reasonably priced and very good. We got vouchers for free facials at check-in. They were so good that we went back for... More

Imagine a bathroom in natural setting...foliage, open air, yet complete privacy attached to your sleeping room. Or step out on your terrace and become part of the jungle surroundings. This is the setting of the unique hotel near Arenal attractions and very close to the Hanging Bridges. Lighting could be brighter for those of us who have difficulty reading in... More

I have to say if you want to be in the jungle and have an awesome view of the volcano this is the place to stay. This hotel is up and away from all the other hotels and the busy road. The hotel manager and staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel has several trails that you can take... More

I've been to costa rica several times with my family but finally found true paradise at this resort. The staff catered to my families requests with warmth and professionalism and always made us feel like we were their #1 priority. The kids loved the heated pool and my wife and I enjoyed the swim up bar in the heated pool.... More

We had a great stay. We rented a car in San Jose and also rented a GPS. It was easy to get around and having a gps made it stress free. We were able to see all the local attractions on our own without a tour company. The area around the volcano is small and easy to get around. The... More

Just got back from a trip to the Arenal area. We stayed at Lost Iguana for 6 days. Overall, I was impressed with the resort and would recommend staying there. ~Distance from Fortuna~ The property is located well away from Fortuna, further than just about most other hotels by a fair margin. The drive into town takes about 15 or... More

Arenal was the first, and best, part of our trip. We wished we had stayed longer. We loved Lost Iguana! The property, rooms and staff were all great. The food was pretty good too (I recommend the tenderloin, chicken poblano soup and huevos rancheros with gallo pinto). The only con would be it's distance from La Fortuna, however, we still... More

Our visit to Arenal and surrounding area was about as perfect as you could ask. We stayed at Lost Iguana for 5 wonderful nights and were blown away with the service and serenity. We had the opportunity to rappel down waterfalls with Pure Trek Canyoning, go on the zipline with Sky Trek, visit EcoTermales, and walk the Hanging Bridges tour.... More

We just recently returned from an unbelievable, unforgettable time! Perfect back drop for a wedding! Our son/fiance were married here. It could not have been more perfect. The staff did everything they could leading up to...as well as when there to ensure all needs/expectations were met. We traveled with a group of 30. So much to do right there with... More
