Great service from all staff members, fabulous massage (fireplace in the room), and good food and drink - breakfast, lunch and dinner. And a relaxing happy hour from the heated swim up bar pool. Erica at the front desk was very helpful. Inexpensive and fast laundry service.

My husband and I stated 10 days at this resort 9 years ago. Although it's high up on a hill it is still close to the town and activities. Their shuttle is free (or was) and makes several trips throughout the day. The owner has her art work sprinkled throughout the resort for viewing and purchase. Great views from most... More

We stayed at the Lost Iguana for three nights while visiting the Mount Arenal area and we wished we had longer there. It is one of the loveliest hotels we have stayed at and the rooms and grounds meld beautifully with the surrounding jungle. Our room had a wonderful view of the mountain and a two person spa bath on... More

We just completed our 4 night stay at the Lost Iguana. We were looking for a great experience away from the tourist areas and this hotel fits the bill. You really are in the rainforest. Our room had beautiful woodwork and a balcony with a great view of the volcano and an outdoor hot tub. It was so relaxing to... More

We stayed in a luxury suite and loved everything about the room. Our room (#35) was a corner unit on the first floor, and had a very private outdoor shower with two shower heads, as well as a large Jacuzzi bathtub on the covered patio. Step off the patio and you are in the jungle. Perfectly framed direct view of... More

The resort is beautifully located with a stunning view of the volcano and at the edge of the rainforest. Just by staying at the resort we saw tucans, tayras, coati mundi, hummingbirds, snake etc. It is a bit far from La Fortuna, so if you are planning on going out a lot a night you should not stay here. But... More

We only visited here for the spa treatment. Once I stepped in the spa, I felt like I was in the someone's palace with gorgeous Bali style decor, yes it is Bali style but still tropical. After changing to a robe, we were taken to the small cottages. It has two massage beds, a fireplace, and a nice balcony. They... More

Breathtaking and set truly in the jungle. We booked a suite which had a great private dual outdoor shower inside the room! We also had a private outdoor jacuzzi. Lots of birds including a toucan that they feed at the restaurant every morning. We didn't see or hear any monkeys here as other reviewers posted and that was a big... More

The setting for this hotel is breathtaking. It is located in the rain forest. The birds are abundant and beautiful. The restaurant is wonderful - particularly the breakfast buffet. Everything about the resort is wonderful. The one concern we had is the low level of light in the rooms at night. They need brighter lights. We could hardly see what... More

We stayed at the Lost Iguana for 3 nights in March of 2014 and it was absolutely perfect. We had an amazing view of the Volcano from our balcony the pools were beautiful, and everyone who worked there was unbelievably friendly! I'm still dreaming about the mojitos from the poolside bar. We took a full day trip to go canyoneering... More
