First and important things to know are that the volcano has been dormant for 2 months so don't expect to see any lava eruptions. Also, the weather in Arenal is notoriously bad. It was about 15 degrees and wet in the dry season! Ok, the hotel... The grounds and pool areas are lovely. Rooms however are basic and not worth... More

The hotel is in a gorgeous location, lying right below the Arenal volcano. The hotel itself has a beautiful garden and swimming pool. The staff was friendly, the rooms were spacious, and overall the place was very clean. However, there were also a few glitches: 1) No hot water in the showers in the evening (between 5 and 7 pm)... The view of the Volcano though the gardens was incredible. You can enjoy a peaceful setting on the patio outside your room; get a great breakfast in the morning; and depend on a helpful staff. We haven't been to the area before, but would definitely recommend this hotel. Thanks to the staff for helping us get my son from the... More

This hotel is set in lovely gardens about 5km outside of La Fortuna. It doesn't have any thermal springs, unlike some in the local vicinity, but it does have beautiful gardens, This also means insects - so don't forget the insect repellent. We ate in the hotel one evening - I wouldn't recommend it. The food took ages to come... More

Was in Arena for 3 night and this was the PERFECT hotel. We paid less than $60 a night (through Orbitz) and what a deal! PROS: The room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had a view of the volcano (which went off several times during our stay) and gardens. The gardens are huge, perfect for short walks and well maintained.... More

We stayed at this property for 2 nights, it is just beautiful. We regret that we arrived after dark the first day and then had 2 full days of tours off-site. So we did not get to see all the property had to offer. The gardens are beautiful with lots of hummingbirds butterfly's and other birds. Breakfast was included with... More

We loved this hotel! I had read so many good things about it online and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The check-in process could have been a nightmare, as I had mistakenly reserved the wrong dates 5 months previously. The desk clerk was extremely helpful, he managed to straighten out the reservation and give us a beautiful room... More

From the moment we arrived we experienced exceptionally friendly and helpful service. Check in included a welcome drink - and a personal in-room overview of the room details - including the A/C (which not every hotel in this area has). Staff was a pleasure to deal with and rivaled other hotels in higher categories. When I wanted to make a... More

The grounds of the hotel are a garden filled with flowers, hummingbirds and butterflies. The dense growth gives separation and privacy to the rooms. The "hotel" then is more like a subdivision, with each "house" containing 4 rooms. (You will walk a bit more here than in most hotels, but the walks are pleasant). Restaurant was good, but perhaps not... More

From arrival to departure service was excellent. Rooms are bigger than usual rooms in hotels and the garden-like view from the verranda is great. The hotel garden area is extremely neat and well kept.
