A visit to the Volcano Lodge & Springs is a must if you're in the Arenal area. The grounds and gardens are well-kept and lush, a relaxing wonder. The volcano looms over the property, clouds wrapping the base, making for ever-changing views from the rooms and restaurants. (I've submitted a separate review for the Sura restaurant, in the center of... More

This place is nothing sort of the lodges you have seen. In fact, calling it a lodge is unjust. Volcano Lodge and Springs is a very cute, comfortable and beautiful place to stay. This was my first time in Costa Rica and since as a couple, we usually are outdoors , we wanted to have an affordable place to stay.... More

We loved the grounds, the flowers and birdsong were heavenly. The view of the volcano is stunning and inspiring. Perhaps our favorite is the 24 hour hot spings waterfall pool, which have little round pools to sit your drinks while soaking. The staff are helpful and attentive. Keep in mind, the walls are thin, so anything you do will be... More

I got food poisoning while staying here (not at their restaurant one in La Fortuna) and the staff couldn't be nicer or have gone out of their way more. We had one of the rooms that backed right on to the volcano so sitting outside the room was great. Excellent bird life on display all hours of the day. For... More

This was a great hotel, clean room great food and service, we were able to see the volcano every day even though it was during the rainy season (mid September) The staff was over and above kind, even made soup for us that wasn't on the menu. The pool was great, even on a rainy night, the warm pool felt great.Would... More

This was my first trip to CR after hearing and reading so many great reviews. Being a rookie, I allowed my CR travel agency suggest options, Volvano Lodge being one. I wanted to see a variety of areas and topographical features. Now - I wish I had spent the majority of my time at the Volcona Lodge and in the... More

Out of the four resorts my husband and I stayed at in Costa Rica, this front desk was the least helpful for information and politeness was lacking people that we dealt with our entire 12 day stay in CR. We went not knowing that they needed a credit card or cash to hold for a $200 deposit. We had booked... More

I stayed here in November 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed it here. The reception was very friendly, the breakfast was free, and the rooms were clean. I had a great view of the Arenal Volcano, which was so nice to wake up to every morning. Great amenities and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

Awesome find at the $100 mark. Gated property. Unbelievable view of Arenal Volcano. It's notoriously difficult to get a full, clear view of the volcano. From the pool area, we had a full, crystal clear view for more than two hours. Servers come right up to you in the spring pools and trade out your empty glass for a fresh... More

After staying at many hotels in the Arenal/La Fortuna area, this hotel is fantastic for certain groups of people but not for others. While at the Lodge, serveral high school groups came in-forget using the community hot springs. Absolutely go for the Junior suite. The Junior Suite is a night and day difference. The standard is quite boring. Our teenagers... More
