We were upgraded to a room with a private spa pool, which was great. The rooms were well equipped and the housekeeping faultless. The grounds were lovely and the food put out for the birds attracted many species. The food was good, my only reservation was that the desserts appeared to be factory made. The staff were all very helpful;... More

We more or less stumbled upon the Volcano Lodge and Spa - and though we were only going to stay one night, we extended it to two, it was that nice. There was a gentle rain falling while we sat in the large hot tub, and we were served cocktails in the hot tub as well. Then we went to... More

This was a great place to stay. After an afternoon at Baldi, we continued with the hot springs theme and found the corner of the lower pool in the hotels hot spring. There was a little table in the water for our drinks and the waiter was very attentive and made sure we always had a drink. It was ideal!... More

My family had a wonderful vacation in Costa Rica. The 5 nights we stayed at Volcano Lodge were great. The grounds are well kept, the restaurant, although expensive, had tremendous service and very good food. Our room was always clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. The pool and thermal springs are fun. Overall great value. We would definitely... More

My husband and I stayed at the Volcano Lodge for 2 nights. Our rooms were clean, and the staff was very helpful and friendly! Our window in our room had a great view if the volcano....but it was too foggy/cloudy to see it. I was surprised however, with how big the grounds were for this hotel, we used a shuttle... More

The staff was great & the rooms were very clean. A small refrigerator for drinks and snacks & a fan in the shower would have been helpful. The maid did some fantastic towel art with flowers. The grounds had a wonderful assortment of tropical plants and trees. Food at the restaurant in the evening was tasty but rather expensive ($17.50... More

Hi, a group of eleven of us stayed at the Volcano Lodge & Springs in April 2014. Ages ranged from six to 80. The older folks liked having the onsite springs. The younger folks liked being able to walk to the zoo. All of us loved being so close to the Baldi Hot Springs. We went to Baldi on a... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights. We had a superior room. Room and facility is indeed a 4 star property. Please note that having a car or other means of transportation is a must; this property is 7 km out of town. Excellent breakfast. Improvement suggestion: would be nice if they had a bottled water station in the lobby... More

Our family enjoyed staying here. The room itself are nice (but not huge or anything special), but the private hot spring hot tubs was great - especially after being out on an excursion all day. The grounds are nice and well kept and there are a few pools and an multilevel area of hot springs which is fun for the... More

We stayed there only 1 night, they said they had no rooms except one luxurious room (it looked empty for a hotel that was said to be fully booked) that cost $320 but finally we paid around $280. We assumed the room would be 5 stars for that price but it was no where close to it, its an average... More
