Rooms here are pretty basic but spacious. Good views of Arenal. Definitely don't miss the Tabacon springs - there's no need to spend the money to stay at Tabacon, but definitely visit the numerous springs there!

I just got back from spending two nights at AP and one night at Lost Iguana. Upon arrival the staff was very friendly and we had a parking spot right on the side of our cabin style room. The room was really hot so we had to blast the AC to cool it down. AC works great. I loved the... More

Great hotel. We had a nice room with a porch and view of the volcano. Of course this is not the active side of the volcano so you have to travel around it to see any lava activity. Go to the observatory. The hot springs were really nice and not crowded so we decided not to pay to see the... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Arenal Paraíso towards the end of our honeymoon in Costa Rica. We loved it! The private cabins are great, with covered porches to protect you from most of the mosquitos. They are a bit rustic - don't expect your television and/or phone to work well - but the rustic feel seems to... More

When we first arrived and checked out the property it seemed really nice. We even had a bottle of wine and fruit waiting for us in our room...I believe you get this if you mention you are on your honeymoon. The hot springs were okay and the wet bar is pretty neat. The view of the volcano is amazing! We... More

This is a great hotel, resort for the price. We paid $70 a night (off season). Food is international and surprisingly good ($5.50 for a huge chicken sandwich, $11 for fajitas). The pools and springs are nowhere near as good as Tabacon but it is nice to have the option so close (they also have a great hike and a... More

We stayed in a superior room in the beginning of May 2007. The grounds - beautiful, we were entertained with a little bit of animal life and enjoyed the springs. The cabin - we were very happy with it. It was clean and comfortable and we had incredible view of the volcano. The food was descent - we tried breakfast,... More

We were lucky to have been able to stay at the resort & get a room with a great view of the volcano when the lava was flowing in our direction. The resort is pretty nice and the zip line located on the property is AWESOME! The only problem we had was the delay in getting clean towels. Aside from... More

We found the hotel a joy. We liked the uncrowded pools and hot springs. All the plantings were beautiful and birds were everywhere. Frequently we were the only ones in one of the hot spring pools. We liked our cabin and LOVED the view. Every night we sat on the rockers and watched the mountain smoke. We loved the steep... More

You wouldn’t think it when you walk into the reception lobby, that this resort has such beautiful and well kept ground and such first rate spa. About a little over 2 hours drive from San Jose international airport, roads are winding with one lane each direction but well maintained. The hotel staffs are very helpful and they don’t even charge... More
