Terrific volcano view, very nice pools and springs. Good restaurant, spa, and pool bar. BUT........ Lousy air conditioning. Four calls for repair, no results and no offer of another room with functional AC. Fans would have helped a LOT more than the sad, dim, ceiling light fixtures. Ancient, worn-out, poorly fitting bed linens, hard and/or lumpy mattresses. Thin, skimpy pillows.... More

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. It was amazing. The bungalow is really cute and they leave the towel and in different shapes everyday (swan, heart, flowers). It's not super fancy, but it is nice. It wasn't crowded at all. The pool is nice and they have a bar that you can swim up to in the... More

We had a great time at Arenal Paraiso. Tabacon is the best known of the resorts in the area, but Paraiso also has hot springs and was not overcrowded at all, as I have heard Tabacon can be. Our villa was well located and had a great view of the volcano, although it was often shrouded in clouds. The pools... More

My husband and I stayed at AP in Sept and it was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. The pools were quiet this time of year but I have to agree with some others that the pools are not hot. I went to all of them and they are warm at best. They are free... More

stayed here for 1 night, and wished we planned to stay longer. The hotel grounds are beautiful and clean. the staff was very friendly, and we even joined some of them at the local night club in town. The food at the restaurant was OK, not a lot of choices really. But the best part was the view of the... More

Rooms here are pretty basic but spacious. Good views of Arenal. Definitely don't miss the Tabacon springs - there's no need to spend the money to stay at Tabacon, but definitely visit the numerous springs there!

I just got back from spending two nights at AP and one night at Lost Iguana. Upon arrival the staff was very friendly and we had a parking spot right on the side of our cabin style room. The room was really hot so we had to blast the AC to cool it down. AC works great. I loved the... More

Great hotel. We had a nice room with a porch and view of the volcano. Of course this is not the active side of the volcano so you have to travel around it to see any lava activity. Go to the observatory. The hot springs were really nice and not crowded so we decided not to pay to see the... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Arenal Paraíso towards the end of our honeymoon in Costa Rica. We loved it! The private cabins are great, with covered porches to protect you from most of the mosquitos. They are a bit rustic - don't expect your television and/or phone to work well - but the rustic feel seems to... More

When we first arrived and checked out the property it seemed really nice. We even had a bottle of wine and fruit waiting for us in our room...I believe you get this if you mention you are on your honeymoon. The hot springs were okay and the wet bar is pretty neat. The view of the volcano is amazing! We... More
