The rooms are very spacious, great ventilation and AC, king size bed that will make you want to sleep there forever. My room had a terrace with a view of the San Carlo's river. Friendly staff will help you or will be there upon any request. The restaurant is good!

My wife and me stayed at this hotel for the first time this last Saint Valentine’s day. Now we has been there 3 more times with my daughters and other family relatives. The place is so nice and relaxing, and for those who likes seeing birds all around, there you will have a warm welcome when visiting the hotel’s restaurant.... More

We stayed here as we were riding nearby and it was a really great place to stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the grounds were beautiful, it was the first place we stayed in Costa Rica and within 1 hour of arriving we had already seen a lots of wildlife. The restaurant is particularly nice because it has... More

The hotel is a bit of a drive from La Fortuna and the volcano area activities, but if you are looking to go to other sites such as Cano Negro, it is in a good location. If you are participating in tours, they will come get you anyway, so getting around shouldn't be a major issue. We were able to... More

The campus is gorgeous. Rooms are pretty clean. Staff is very nice and pleasant. Dining: Open dining area where you feel like you're apart of nature! I recommend sitting in the very back where you can watch the birds feed. Be sure to bring deet since there are mosquitoes roaming around. Dinner buffet: Nice assortment of fresh fruit and fruit... I stayed at Tilajari a couple weeks ago and chose this hotel because of the great reviews and the fact that the scenery around the resort was "in the wild" and that it wasn't busy/noisy around that area. (Keep in mind that this resort is NOT in La Fortuna, but actually San Carlos. I found out the hard way.) The... More

This place is quite nice. The rooms were large and decorated with regional pieces. Quiet, clean rooms and spectacular grounds. Plus, the biggest bonus for us was our balcony overlooking the beautiful grounds and the San Carlos River. On one walk around the property, we spotted a crocodile sunning himself on a rock. There is an open air restaurant on... More

It's nice to be outside the main tourist area, especially with the volcano no longer glowing, just be aware it will take 1/2hr or so to drive to the Arenal Volcano National Park. The road there is mostly paved now, whoohoo. Lovely property, huge iguanas walking around and climbing in the trees. Great variety of birds - very nice touch... More

Having read a number of reviews of the hotel they seem to say it all. The location is wonderful with a huge number of birds and wildlife at close quarters (although not intrusive). Service is good as is the food. Rooms are spacious and well cleaned and the staff are friendly and helpful.

We spent two nights at this hotel and were very pleasantly surprised. The rooms themselves were clean and comfortable, but the real star is the property itself. The hotel sits along the bank of the San Carlos River, which was beautiful in its own right, and we saw tons of iguanas lounging along the riverbank and throughout the hotel grounds.... More
