The service was wonderful, and the view of the volcano was great. It rained a lot when we went so we only saw the volcano completely on our last day of our 5 night stay. The food was fantastic, and I suggest getting the Club sandwich that my family really liked. I also suggest that you take tours with Miguel... More

Can't say enough about how wonderful this hotel was! The chalet style rooms overlooking the volcano, the infinity pool, the tropical (or european) breakfast. We were greeted by Stephania a beautiful Macaw that took food from our hands. Manuel took us on a wonderful nature walk and horseback ride and the staff found an amazing gourmet chocolate cake for my... More

If you want to stay in an area with loads of tourists walking the streets, this place is not for you. For us the lodge location was fantastic, away from the town next to rainforest with the best views of Arenal Volcano and the Lake. The food at the restaurant was mainly locally sourced, fresh and good. The infinity pool... More

I wanted to have a real feeling of living inside the rain forest and this place doesn't disappoint in that. lets start with the actual location, this is ~30 min from the city so once you are at the lodge you wont be going back to city so make sure if you are going to the city you dont forget... I loved this lodge. The service was great, the rooms clean, and the views amazing. Be sure to take time to walk around the grounds. There is a butterfly area that is worth visiting. The breakfasts were delicious

Arenal Lodge is poised to provide gorgeous volcano vistas. The grounds are well maintained and the walking trail to a bluff overlooking the volcano provides excellent birdwatching and photo opportunities. The restaurant needs extensive quality improvement which is the only negative. Its a great place to stay if you find meals outside the Lodge.

The location is glorious, the lodge is beautiful, including the pet parrot. Staff at the desk were okay. Rooms were clean but basic. Pros: ability to make coffee & tea water in the room, good air con unit. Cons: tv doesn't work, tepid water, weird layout.

We stayed at Arenal lodge after booking a room there through Living Social. We arrived at night and just as we had been warned the road to the hotel from the main road was indeed interesting. We were driving a 4x4 and actually thought it was a very cool approach. The lodge is a real neat old place with numerous... More

We stayed here for 2 nights, Great for getting away from the city life, the facilities and area are kept very clean. we loved the Restaurant's view and quietness. our only complaint is the remoteness, you're kinda stuck out there if you didn't drive and all the tours charge extra to pick people up from there. my suggestion is to... We stayed in the Chalet room (we requested an upstairs unit, but none were available – the downstairs unit was fine). We were traveling with our 8 year old son and 10 year old daughter, and the configuration of 2 double (Queen?) beds worked great. The beds were a bit hard and noisy to get in and out of. There...
