My children (19 and 16) and I were there in June 2015 (rainy season). We arrived in the afternoon and the lodge had no power (no fault of their's). We were given a flash light and candles (was afraid to burn the place down!). Luckily we arrived while it was still light out so we could see the layout of... More

High up, at the end of a steep and winding brick road, the Arenal Lodge is truly authentic Costa Rica. Rooms are not "fancy," but are clean and comfortable with coffee maker, blow dryer, tv. Wifi is not available in-room but IS available in the lobby. Highlight of our stay was a free walk through the grounds and rain forest... More

Imagine that when you get there there is a Sing that says "You Made it" JA!. I was thinking yes I made it but almost get kill in... More

My family and I stayed there during our Costa Rica trip this March and loved it! We rented the one of the Chalets and were not disappointed at all! They were well furnished and the views were breathtaking! The Arenal Volcano was literally right there! The staff was friendly and the food was good! The Arenal Lodge is close to... More

This was such a disappointment. We arrived at night, we were booked through Travel by Jen on a package deal. We had read up front about the rooms and based on trip advisor reviews, we decided to give it a shot. My sister paid extra to make sure her room had a/c. We got there and they gave us what... More

We had two rooms booked here for three nights, through an online travel agency. I paid an extra $130 when booking to insure we received a room with air conditioning. When we arrived, it was already dark, the hotel is very remote, one of the furthest from town. We don't have a problem with it being remote, we like that.We... More

My wife and I stumbled on this place as we were driving around and we're glad we did. For 8 dollars US each we're able to use the grounds and all those there hiking trails. We saw Moore at this place as far as wildlife ghost then we were able to see in any other reserve. If you go be... More

I stayed at Arenal Lodge with my boyfriend for a total of 5 nights, we had a Junior Suite, with direct access to the pool (which was so pretty, infinity pool looking directly into the jungle and at the volcano). The room was very clean, and had a small patio with two rocking chairs which we loved. The restaurant faces... More

We stayed in one of the chalets, amazing view. The room was very big but a little dated. It's a bit of a hike up the hill to the chalets. You can get the shuttle up the hill. The staff was amazing. See Jessie at the lodge for your tours, she's very helpful. The Internet is not that great, very... More
