My husband and I were looking for a comfortable and economical place to stay while we visited the Arenal area to begin our adventures in Costa Rica. Not only was Sleeping Indian guesthouse a comfortable room only three blocks from the bus stop but we had an easy place to prepare meals a great shared living room and balcony and... More

We planned to stay for 3 nights but left after one. The window could not be closed and it felt like sleeping on the sidewalk of a very busy street. Aditionally there was a very foul sewage smell in the bathroom. We wanted to change the room and had a hard time reaching anybody because this hotel staff starts working... More

Unfortunatly we can not satisfy all the people all the time. These people arrived in a terrible state of mind - they were hostile and thought they were booking a private villa and it is obvious from our listing that we are a guesthouse with a large common area. We attempted to offer them an alternative room and they became... More

Good place to stay but more expensive that we expected. In the Lonely Planet Central America on a shoestring 8th edition october 2013 it was 30US$ by night. In reality it was 45US$ by night. It is located in down town LaFortuna so we can walk to the grocery and restaurants.

We had a pleasant enough stay at The Sleeping Indian, there was a problem with our shuttle and Peter and pooch Rocky picked us up instead from the airport, for the same price. The guesthouse is very open air, with a large social gathering area, and a small kitchenette prepping station which makes it feel more like a hostel. Most... More

My wife and I decided to book a room here online based on TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet recommendations. Arrived and both Peter and the nice lady working the desk had no idea we had pre-booked and paid for the room - no biggie. We were shown our room. Seemed clean and very basic, the fan didn't really do much as... More

As you can see, this review is a complete departure from the positive responses that we have had over a very long time. The guests were referred to our cnacellation policy but felt that we should make some exception to them when they made the booking and had committed to reserving the room. They had checked in and when they... More

What a lovely, lovely place to stay in La Fortuna!! I can't recommend it highly enough. Peter is the perfect host (as is his assistant, Heidy), the space is beautiful and inviting, and having kitchen access is just wonderful. The location couldn't be better, as it puts you right in downtown Fortuna, with walking access to whatever you might want... More

This was a perfect place for us to stay. Very reasonably priced and quite comfortable. Our room was clean with big window, warm shower, and enough space to spread out. The common area provided great extra space to relax and read orbrowse the internet via the free wifi. The staff gave good food recommendations that we took advantage of. The... More

I love this place. It feels like home...comfortable, quiet, friendly. Peter is an exceptional host and a great friend. My room was cozy and private. The kitchen is clean and inviting. I love the hammock and the artwork. Everything about the Sleeping Indian Guesthouse is PURA VIDA.

We stayed 2 night and it was perfect staying! The girl who work there helped us with a lot of information. The location is right on the center. The rooms are very clean. There is special and good shared zone.
