We spent three nights at this hotel. Rooms were spacious and clean. We had a great view of the Pool and Volcano from our room. Our Hotel Manager, David could not have been more helpful. He gave us his time to assure we had a good stay. On a personal note, my son wanted to see a particular type of... More

We stayed at Hotel Bijagua for 2 nights at the end of July. We were welcomed at reception by the mother of the family who, although she does not speak much English and we speak practically no Spanish, was able to provide us with the basic information we needed for our 2 day stay. Our room was really comfortable and... More

Our family of 4 (2 girls ages 11 & 15) stayed here for 4 nights. We stayed at a variety of hotels on our 2 week visit and this was one of our favorites. The room was pretty basic but clean. The whole hotel was very well maintained. We had a second floor room facing the volcano, which we saw... More

We had a 3 night stay at Hotel Bijagua and enjoyed our time here. Our room was on the first floor facing the small swimming pool (that had a running artificial fountain) and Arenal Volcano. On first entry into the room, we did notice a 'musty' smell but once we turned on the A/C, it was fine and we didn't... More

I stayed at the Hotel Bijagua in late April for 3 nights and I highly recommend it. The staff was super friendly, the lcoation was great and the rooms were clean. My biggest fear of staying near the rainforest was getting bugs in the room, and I never saw a single bug while staying here! We had the suite, which... More

This family owned and operated hotel was clean, comfortable, safe, affordable, a great location and offered everything we needed plus much more. There is a supermarket, restaurants, and shops right next door. Each room had coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, dishes, utensils etc. etc. etc. Not to mention cable TV, and a beautiful pool with water fall. I would recommend this... More

The walk to la Bijagua was uphill from town, which would have been fine if we were not so weary from travel. On the bus ride to La fortuna from san jose, the bus had a metal piece that stuck my husband in the butt through both his shorts and his underwear. We were not sure where to go once... More

My son and I stayed at Hotel Bijagua and we could not have been happier. Very clean efficient rooms. Family who owns and manages is warm, friendly, and helpful. The grounds are a beautiful garden. Highly recommended.

We stayed here with 3 daughters and my brother stayed with 2 kids (all of them 2-11 years old). The rooms are cosy and nicely decorated. Bathrooms are spacious with hot water. Some have kitchenettes, however you can also use a shared kitchen and sitting area which is great if you are travelling with more people. You will find a... More
