Felt safe as solo female. They give you a free welcome drink. Staff was helpful but I ended up booking cheaper tours on my own by walking around and asking other tour companies. They have a small pool, bar, and hammocks which are nice. Great location.

It's not that bad, but since the reviews were so good, I expected something above the average. The location is great, there's a beautiful yard with hammocks. I paid for a bed in a 6 bed female dorms, and when I got there there were 10 beds in that room, and it was definitely too small to accommodate so many... More

Great location right in the middle of town with plenty of private rooms. Best common area out of any hostel I've stayed in complete with hammocks, pool, and swim up bar! There was a mixup when we booked our shuttle to San Jose through the hostel, but Jennifer was great in resolving the situation and hooked us up with a... More

Cool hostel right in town with hammocks, pool, wifi, and a free drink with your stay. We met other travelers who were also very friendly, rooms and shared bathrooms were clean. Beautiful place in Arenal.

This place is awesome!, located down town and minutes from any attraction. Beautiful garden with hammoks, small pool, snack bar, basic served breakfast or snaks and kitchen for those who wish to prepare their on meals. Crowd predominantly young with some young at heart adults, easy going style. Beautifull Jenniffer who has public relations in her ADN welcomes you with... More

Arenal Hostel Resort has very high standard, everything is clean, and the security to enter the hostel is strict. It definitely gives a good first impression. The rooms are clean and beds comfortable. The standard in the private rooms is as good as the dorms. The rooms are dark and in need of an upgrade. The feel at the hostel... More

This was a nice place, right in town and close to restaurants and stores. Room was good and the service was good. The front desk people were great and very helpful. The bar and restaurant was available in the central court yard so it was easy to get a drink or a snack, there is also hammocks and seating in... More

My girlfriend and I only stayed in this hostel for one night while we toured the area but were very happy during our short stay. Our private room was very clean and spacious. The common areas were very cool, including a pool with bar, lots of hammocks and a nice kitchen area to chill out and meet people. We stayed... More

There were several issues I had with this hostel. The first was that since this was more resort style, you really don't get the home away from home feel that you may get in other hostels. However, I do understand that this is the theme of the hostel and, as a result, was not the reason for the low score.... More

Based on the rooms, location and the hostel itself with hammocks, pool etc it is great. But did not like the service from the reception and all prices on tours, shuttles etc are overpriced compared to services just down the road. Kitchen is tiny and not made for more than 2 people.
