The Springs Resort and Spa could be the perfect hotel except for one major problem. First the good, the physical hotel itself could not be better. Only a few years old it shows as it was opened just yesterday. Expert staff make this happen. From morning to night the maintenance staff is never obtrusive but always there. Our room was... More

We had the privilege of going to this beautiful place April 24 - 27, 2012. Our whole group, although not celebrities, were treated like celebrities! The view & venue were breathtaking, and the service by everyone (including the owner- Lee Banks) was over-the-top to ensure we had a great time! We've stayed at a lot of very nice places around... This place is stunning. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The gym lays out fresh fruit, and fruit-sweetened water for refreshments. The views are spectacular. I could have spent my entire trip lounging in the natural hot springs and left perfecly content. The cat sanctuary is a must see. The buffet served nothing but delicious food.... More

April 25th,we returned from a 5 days stay in Costa Rica. My Brother lives in Atenas, so my family of 3 went to visit. We treated ourselves to this Hotel after reading extensively about it. We only spent 1 day, but it was well worth the trip! We stayed in the family suite which had a king sized bed downstairs... More

I woke up at 5:30 a.m. my second day at the hotel to discover approximately thirty ants all over my bed biting me. I also found ants crawling around the upstairs bathroom. Management responded by saying there was sugar on the floor next to the downstairs bed and that is why the ants were in the room. I do not... More

Went here as part of our Arenal volcano excursion. Got to enjoy the hot springs. There were different pools with different temperatures. We went down the slide. I prefer it without using a mat. The view of the volcano was beautiful. My skin felt so nice afterwards. I would bring water shoes next time. Be careful when you walk around... More

The Arenal Volcano is front and center of your view from this property. The whole resort is beautifully designed. The pools are great and at different temperatures to suit everyone. The trails are beautifully landscaped leading thru the rain forest to different private spots where you can enjoy the hot springs. There are bars tucked in along the way so... More

Gorgeous property overlooking the Arenal volcano! Luxurious, new, excellent food, many indoor and outdoor activities, but over-priced, not so friendly staff and rooms had ants and cockroaches, not what you'd expect in such a hotel.

We (40-something couple from Chicago) spent 3 nights at The Springs in April. While we enjoyed our stay, it is unlikely that we would return. The highlights of our visit to Arenal had more to do with the outside activities that we planned, and not a result of the hotel itself. We stayed in a Vista Room (which I believe... More
