We chose this place because it was away from La Fortuna. We wanted to hike in the rainforest and there is a rainforest on the property. We took the farm tour and used it as an opportunity for bird watching since we aren't that interested in farming or gardening. We also saw great birds while relaxing by the pool in... More

We loved the farm tour where we sampled cacao, sugar cane. We loved the buffet breakfasts, seeing toucans, sloths, climbing the tower, using the pool and the jacuzzi. We stayed for 2 nights, and did not leave the property. It was just beautiful. The food at the restaurant was fresh, well prepared. We loved our restful and pampered stay there.... More

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights recently and loved it. The lodge is a working farm in the rainforest with accommodation and facilities centred around this experience. Walking tours of the farm are very educational - coco beans, papaya, pineapple, agave all grow here along with many other plants, all organic and biodynamic with produce from many... More

My husband and two daughters (14 &16) stayed with Finca Luna Nueva Lodge in December 2013. The lodge is a hidden gem tucked back into the rainforest. Staff was amazing along with the food at their small restaurant on site. We hired a guide for a private tour of the rain forest.. well work the 2 hour hike! We also... More

We spent 6 days here, being well fed by the wonderful restaurant with great service, and learning so much about the rain forest and all creatures within it. The staff were all incredibly knowledgeable and more than willing to take the time to answer questions and share their knowledge. The bird watching was phenomenal, we didn't need to leave the... We were so comfortable here that we had to make ourselves get out and see the area. But we did not need to leave the grounds to hike the jungle, watch birds and other wildlife, get a massage, soak in the jacuzzi (who needs the crowded Baldi Hot Springs?), do a little yoga in the pavilion overlooking the jungle, and... Our room was perfect, and the overall setting was beautiful. The staff were extremely helpful and the food was very fresh. The guided hikes through the farm during the day, and the jungle night hike were both awesome. There's also a great pool to cool off, and a wonderful outdoor room for yoga that is surrounded by jungle. Enjoy the... More

If you are looking for somewhere in the middle of the rainforest where you can 100% disconnect then this place is it. Beautiful scenery, incredibly knowledgeable staff (particularly Ishmail, Christian and Hector) and sufficient pool/jacuzzi. Every meal is grown on the organic farm the resort is on, so every meal is seriously delicious. The farm tour is amazing as well... More

We stayed here Dec 27 - Dec 30, 2014 and could not have been happier. The food served in the open air restaurant is all locally harvested on site (meat is locally sourced). The service and food were excellent. Sunday night is pizza night - they have a large wood fired pizza oven and it did not disappoint! We stayed... More

Simply put, this was an amazing place to stay in Costa Rica: beautiful, hospitable, delicious food, fascinating story about the organic farm on which it is located, a tropical paradise near the volcano. We stayed in our own private lodge (highly recommended, particularly the one with the back porch and rocking chairs!) and enjoyed going to sleep and waking up... More
