This is a fairly decent place for the price! You get a cabin to yourself so no real sound concerns from others staying near you. The staff are super friendly!! We had the breakfast one morning. Nothing spectacular but it gets the job done. Beds were pretty uncomfortable but we are used to a memory foam mattress at home so... More

First, a disclaimer: Don't come here if you're looking for a 5 star hotel. This is a lovely low key place, family run, great value, with a delicious breakfast. The family was so lovely that it's still etched in my memory 3 months later. We had an issue with our AC and both the son and father came immediately to... More

We stayed at Hotel Rancho Cerro Azul for 3 nights : we liked the rooms, simple, clean, with a nice little terrasse + hamac. The Costarican family who run the hotel are nice and eager to advise if you ask them. Some travelers complained in their review about the fact that you have to cross the road to have breakfast... My 17 yr old daughter and I stayed at Cerro Azul for 2 nights and it was wonderful! The family who owns the property takes pride in what they do and it shows in everything. Our cabin was awesome. We loved the hammock on the back porch. The rooms was clean and the beds were pretty comfy. The breakfast was... More

My husband, 7-year-old daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. The little bungalows are so cute and very clean and you have a clear view of the volcano right in front of the hotel. We loved the view and relaxing in the back patio, which had a hammock with table and chairs. The breakfast is $7/person... More

We stayed for 3 nights. We used Cerro Azul mostly to sleep because there are so many activities to enjoy during the daytime. Our unit was clean and comfortable. I loved sitting on the back porch in the early mornings and watching the birds' social activity and hummingbirds drawing nectar from the nearby blossoms. We enjoyed conversations with the family... This hotel is quiet and perfectly charming, and has a feeling of magic about it! I've stayed here twice now, and I can't imagine visiting Costa Rica without at least a couple nights spent here at Rancho Cerro Azul. A short walk/bike ride/taxi ride into beautiful La Fortuna, and a fantastic hike to the La Fortuna waterfall! Absolutely breathtaking views... More

The price was great. The location was good for us because we had a car. It is probably a 5 minute drive to La Fortuna. It is on the same road as the Fortuna Waterfall. The Rainforest Chocolate Tour is 2 minutes away. The family that owns this property was very helpful with pre arrival tours and answering questions after... More

We stayed for 2 nights here after staying a little further out of town and enjoyed it. The location is perfect if you have a car to take day trips. 5-10 minutes by car and you are in the heart of the town with many restaurants and shops. The bungalows were very large and the beds comfortable. The A/C worked... More

We stayed in Hotel Rancho Cerro Azul for three nights, while spending our days exploring the nature of Volcan Arenal National Park. Even though it's not close to the entrance of the park, we found this hotel to be a good option. The managers were very kind and helpful and the cabins were extremely clean, comfortable and had good views... More
