My husband and I stayed here for a few days during our honeymoon in Costa Rica. We loved that it was family owned and operated. You could tell the passion the family has for the hotel. Tatiana and her father helped with everything we could have needed from excursions to taxis and recommendations. Tatiana's English is very good and we... More

This hotel sits on a beautiful little property just outside the city of La Fortuna. On a clear day the Arenal Volcano is right outside your door. The family who owns and runs this small hotel were helpful and friendly ALL the time. The best part of the hotel is that they are all small private cottages with front and... More

I made last minute plans to visit La Fortuna and contacted Tatiana from Cerro Azul to ask for help working out the details. She patiently went over all of the options and once I arrived helped arrange my activities. The cabins were cozy and so serene set in the beautiful gardens, but it was the family who own the hotel... We enjoyed our entire 3-night stay here. We didn't have a car but the location is close to town with a short taxi drive or walk (20 minutes). The hotel is also close to the waterfall. The service was excellent and our room was both comfortable and spotless. I highly recommend this place.

The staff of this family owned hotel are amazingly friendly and a wealth of knowledge. The cabins are nice tico style and have everything you need. We were there with our young son and they provided toys and a cribs for us. My only suggestion would be to include breakfast (which was great, but at an extra cost).

My husband and I stayed here after two months in south and Central America and we loved it! The bungalows are so cute and big. Our favorite thing to do was lay in the hammock on the back porch and just look at all the beautiful scenery. The owner and his family were exceptionally nice and even though you can... More

My girlfriend and I just spent 17 days in Costa Rica, staying at friend's places, Airbnb houses, and budget hotels. This place was the nicest for the price. We were incredibly surprised by how nice the place was at such an affordable price. We were looking for something private and quiet, with good AC. We got exactly what we were... More

What an absolutely beautiful place. Myself and partner stayed at Rancho Cerro Azul for two nights and wish we could have stayed longer. We have never felt so welcome at a hotel. The surroundings are stunning, with a perfect view of the volcano and just 20 minutes walk from the town. The hotel is also on the way to the... More

Our family of 4 adults, 2 children stayed here for a few days in March (a friend had recommended). I thought it was the perfect location/home base to explore the Arenal area - with a car. It is a bit outside of the main downtown La Fortuna area (less than 5 min. by car or bike), but that's what you... More

My wife and I stay at Arenal Springs for the first part of our trip and Cerro Azul for the second half. Looking back has we known, we would have we had stayed at Rancho Azul the whole time. This is the 2nd time I've taken the time to write a review on trip advisor in the many years I've... More
