My daughter stayed at Mango Valley our first two nights in Costa Rica, and it was a beautiful place to unwind. The grounds are gorgeous, and the view is amazing. The managers are more than helpful, they gave us great recommendations for tours, food, transportation, etc. It was a little out of the way for not having a car. Shuttles... More

Absolutely, beautiful, simple, elegant, breathtaking, warm, friendly, relaxing........ What else is there? Oh yes the genuine welcome of the host Jose & Maite, who spend as much time as with you as you need to have all your concerns and questions answered. Hi Mike! Thank you very much for your comment :) As you know, we were so impressed with your Tai-Chi skills! In fact, all the guests in the hotel were impressed too. If you ever come to live in Costa Rica, you should start a Tai-Chi school hahaha We wish you the best, Pura Vida! Hugs, Jose and Maite More

Great place to stay if you're looking for relaxation and an amazing view. No small children, no big crowds, and a very nice setting being the last driveway before the National Park. The owners were very helpful and fun to talk to, they even helped me order some delicious food that was delivered by scooter right to my cottage during... More

I stayed at Hotel Mango Valley while looking for rental property. Jose and Maite's warmth and graciousness make one feel more like guests in their home than tourists passing through. If you don't have a car the bus into Grecia stops at the entrance to their property just a few meters away. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Having... More

The owners here are so friendly and the grounds are very pretty; lined with coffee plants, mango trees, flowers, and overlooking Volcan Poas. There's a real nice looking outside pool, but that is the only amenity besides breakfast. It's really dark at night because there aren't many lights here (or anywhere in this country) and you can hear all the... More

Hello! Thanks a lot for your comment :) You are right, there are not many outdoors lights at night, but that is on purpose. At Mango Valley there are many nocturnal small mammals that feel attracted by lights. So, if we had more lights, they would come around and make noises, preventing our guests to have a good sleep. We... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Mango Valley, perched in the lush green mountains surrounding the quaint town of Grecia, is just 40 minutes drive from San Jose International Airport (SJO). It's close enough to provide guests with a convenient and relaxing stop-over as they arrive in or depart from Costa Rica. But it's far enough from noise and hassle to allow visitors to relax, recharge and tour the sights of the Central Valley. Hotel Mango Valley is an excellent base from which to explore the abundant sights of this Central Valley region. You can gaze at the Poas volcano from the terraces of our cottages. La Paz Waterfall Gardens is an excellent spot to admire magnificent waterfalls, while getting close to rare tropical birds, butterflies, frogs, jungle cats and more! If you are adventurous, you must visit the canopy at Colinas de Poas. If you are more on the arty side, be sure to visit Sarchi, the famous town of Costa Rican artists. Hundreds of species of local plants are awaiting you at Else Kientzler's botanical gardens. And these are just a few sights among many in close proximity to Hotel Mango Valley! At Mango Valley the comfort and tranquility of our guests are our priorities. Wake up every morning to birds singing outside your window, enjoy a full breakfast while admiring the views of surrounding coffee plantations, swim in the pool to stretch your tired muscles, relax with your book on the terrace, lifting your eyes now and then to enjoy the sight of majestic Poas, watch the stars... ... more   less
