Paying with credit card? "Not possible". Free airport shuttle (as promised on the business card)? "Not available". Two beers please? "We do not sell beer"... The room did not make me very enthusiastic either: the sheets of the bed did not look extremely clean, the bathroom was so-so and the noise of the traffic was pretty loud. But... for a... More

We stayed at Hotel Mi Tierra for our first night in Costa Rica as we arrived late and needed somewhere to crash near the airport. We had opted for a private room with shared bathroom. The room was very small, with a double bed, twin bunkbed and wardrobe cramped into a small space. There was not much room for our... More

This is my fourth time to stay here and finally I have had enough. Roberto is a reasonable manager but his wife, Ivanna is very moody and not helpful. Upon arrival one person fell on the horrible connecting stairs...off to the right and broke his wrist, ruining his entire trip. I could not find ice, and grabbed some frozen meat... More

We stayed at Hotel Mi Tierra for one night. They had a pool (although it was too rainy to want to swim), hot water, internet and free breakfast. The staff was friendly, but after traveling around for a while we realized that it was far too expensive. The breakfast was good and they have a nice open-air dining room. It... More

In april I did a reservation and they did not respect and they told me that someone has arrived a couple of minutes ago and they thought we weren't coming. Furthermore, the owner was very rude and didn't help us find anything else at 11 pm. Try to get a reservation in somewhere else. Robert.

We stayed 1 night at Mi Tierra because Casa Tago was full. My biggest complaint was about the strange stairs to get to our room- which was mainly an issue because of a recent knee injury. One stair case ends in the middle of another- also difficult with a roller bag. Other than that, it seemed very quiet staff wise,... More

Friendly staff, great location near the airport and out of the hustle and bustle of San Jose. Comfortable, not fancy, but very reasonable. They also run and book lots of adventure trips here. We went kayaking on the Sarapiqui with Roberto, the owner, who was a great, gracious guide and fun to hang out with. We´ll be back.

As in most cases, we got what we paid for for $55/night for 4 people with our own bathroom -- very basic accomodations, but super-clean, even by US standards. You can tell the management and staff really try hard to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It's a work in progress, but it looks like they're trying to create... More

Great location, rooms are clean. The hotel shows a little of it's age, but I thought it was charming. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a really early flight the next morning, and our host scheduled a taxi and was up at 4am to pay for our ride to the airport. This is a great option if... More
